Thai National Parks
Couldn't agree more with kenstan. I lived in Ca and I can't think of a beach that is remotely close to the beaches in and around Phuket, just my opinion.Having said that, you should check out the National Parks inthe south. Khao Sok in one that is really nice, big and not that any tourists will be there, especially this time of the year. Also tis is the time of year where one has the greatest opportunity to see some of the wildlife. Compared to the north, Chiang mai and Chiang Rai, the south has a lot more wildlife. Lots of reasons which I won't go into. The flora is different as well as you may well guess. You can hike for hours and not see another person, but if you do I would suggest a guide. They are good to point out plants and animals that you or I may miss. Khao Sok is also identified as one of the oldest places on earth. It was earlier thought that a place in Africa was (Congo?)...
