The Lobster Restaurant has a great variety of fish, prawns, squid and of course lobster dishes.
I've eaten there many times and never been disappointed. All the usual dishes (grilled, cooked with garlic, with chillie, with three spices, with ginger etc.) are there, but to us they seemed just a bit tastier than usual, and we keep going back.
Perhaps it's the friendly easy going nature of the owner, the TV in the corner, or perhaps it's the ice cold beer - I don't know but I think it's really the tastier food that's kept us returning to the Lobster. Anyway it's got a great atmosphere and it's our favourite in Khao Lak.
Favorite Dish: King prawns grilled with garlic seem to have a better taste than you can produce at home. Served with a plate of fried mixed vegetables, some steamed rice, and an ice cold beer on a hot night it's a perfect finish to a visit to the Bang Niang Monday/Wednesday/Saturday night markets that are next door. Or if you want to splash out try the grilled lobster!!!

We decided we all wanted a potato fix so headed off to the Viking Steakhouse, also on the main road.
We all ordered a western meal, tender mouth watering steak, the absolute best garlic sautéed potato and lots of veggies.
Of course the serves were huge and we all walked out happy and bloated. Prices were reasonable and service was excellent.

This restaurant is also located on the main road and what a great little place it is.
We only called in for a drink or two but ended up being so settled and comfortable we decided to have a meal as well.
The drinks were icy cold and the staff went out of their way to make sure we were cool, more fans were bought out and icy cold towels.
All the food was cooked fresh out the front of the bar by the happiest girl we have ever seen!
We ordered 6 dishes and a few of them were seafood, 4 beers and 2 watermelon juices and our bill came to 700baht.
The Fisherman Bar & Restaurant is fantastic and we highly recommend having a meal there.

If you visit Khao Lak you must have a meal at Jai Restaurant. Located on the main highway through Khao Lak, Jai’s specialize in authentic Thai dishes, fresh seafood and pasta!
The prices are extremely cheap, we ordered 4 main courses, a large fried rice and 8 drinks between the four of us and the total bill was only 500baht.
The food is delicious. the staff very friendly and the setting is typical Thai open air style.

All of Thailand is filled with great restaurants - and Khao Lak is no exception. The main street through Khao Lak has at least 25 restaurants and more arriving every day.
In the restaurant section here, is information about Viking and Nang Thong Bungalows restaurants. Another favorite is the Jai - out on the main road - just a few hundred meters north of the Viking on the same side of the road. Try their Penang Gai - the best I've every had ANYWHERE. (and it is my favorite dish - I've tried it at almost every Thai restaurant I have been to)Sala Thai Restaurant in Khao Lak
Sala Thai - also on the northern end of Khao Lak - is quite popular.
The restaurant at the Similana out on the Pakarang Cape also offers exceptional Thai food - with a sweeping view of Pakweeb Beach. Right on the beach between the Similana and the Sarojin Resort are several "beach shack" type restaurants - all typically well reviewed. This area is also known as Oawthong Beach (though it is part of the much larger PakWeeb Beach).
Favorite Dish: Thai Food! Yam Won Sun - a spicy noodle salad and Khao Ob Suppalot - Pinapple Rice.
