Favorite thing: The way that meat is stored and sold in Asia has always made me feel a little uneasy. In the hot weather there is no sign of ice or refrigeration and flies are common on the produce. However, it doesn't seem to cause health problems. Perhaps we are too cautious in the west?

Favorite thing: The Thais enjoy eating insects. Personally, grasshoppers and cockroaches don't appeal to me but I know that some food I eat doesn't appeal to Thais. These delicacies can be found at the local market if you wish to try some.

Favorite thing: Many shops in Thailand are mobile. You will see all types of goods being pushed around the streets for sale. This guy is selling wooden items, wickerwork and bags.

Favorite thing: Hat Yai has a thriving market which is best visited in the morning. There is an indoor wet market as well as the street market.

Fondest memory: Buying a bag of jackfruit on the street. Jackfruit tastes wonderful but leaves your teeth feeling as if they need a shave! Furry teeth don't feel good.
