    Staying Dry

How to stay dry in Thailand

Fondest memory: The Thais have some interesting ways of staying dry in wet weather while riding motorbikes. Most popular is wearing a big plastic bag but it is extremely common to see them riding around underneath umbrellas.

Sometimes the rear passenger holds the brollie. Solo riders operate their machines using their right hand and carry the umbrella in their left.

What's that you say? Riding without due care and attention? Don't be silly ... this is Thailand. On the roads anything goes.

A rainy day in Hat Yai

    Thai Rain Gear

Favorite thing: Even Thailand has wet, miserable days occasionally. It always gives me a kick seeing the Thais riding their motorbikes around while holding an umbrella to try to stay dry.
