If you dive, go with Lotus Dive at Pooh's, Forra Dive Center at the Chao Leh Village or Sabye Sports at Sunset Beach. Most experienced guys there.
I dived with Lotus Dive. They do good packages for divers, you get the bungalows at a discounted rate of 300 Baht a night, nice clean, new, concrete rooms with attached toilets. U get discounted rates for the internet at Pooh's Bar, also free 20 minutes for each dive! And the service is brilliant... I didn't have to lift a finger! Bob did everything for me, what service! ;-) i just had to get into my wetsuit, put my gear on, BWRAF check and roll off the boat.
Equipment: Everything is available, and the equipment was in good, pretty new condition! U can rent cameras, dive comp, and all other normal gear. Not sure whether it's because i used the smallest of everything but everyone else's gear looked spanking too.

A: It really does not matter where you stay as the island is small and it´s easy to walk to other beaches...but Sunrise beach is the best in low season.
