this is cool wee stoner bar owned by a french guy who is really sound. They encourage the use of cannabis and provide mushroom shakes to the more adventurous traveller like myself. You can drink one of these and trip out for 6 hours at the bar, its one way of passing the night in! good reggae tunes as well.

Err....its neon.: Mushroom bar

Off the beach inland. If you find it you'll know, everythings neon and trippy.
Which happens to be very appropriate. After trying a really weak mushroom cocktal at the mellow mountain bar, i was ready for some real stuff and heard of this place.
Drank a 500bt mango and mushroom shake in a neon wilderness.....an hour later i almost went insane. I've tried my luck with most crazy stuff, but this was loony juice on steroids.
After leaving the bar the shake had'nt hit, and i went to meet these two girls for dinner, half way through the dinner the table started rippling, then these English girls started talking a form of gobbldegook. I could just about make out some words in English but suddenly i was hearing nonsense, and everything around me. I was in cookoo land. So I bolted, up to the safety of my hut where i spent the next 5 hours watching the sea to keep me sane. Be warned, those shakes are NOT for the fainthearted!

View of the half moon party

I wasn't lucky enough to be there at the time of the full moon party, but did go to the half moon party and that was amazing!!

It only gets going at about 11pm and will easily carry on til after 3am! Entrance is 200 baht and includes a free drink - got to try the Sangsom + red bull!

There are some amazing fluorescent glow-in-the-dark paint (temporary) tattoo's that you can get for about 100baht - looks very cool glowing under the fluorescent lights!

Note - they expect you to pay a small amount to use the toilets (think it may have been as little as 10 baht!).

Dress Code: Casual, beach wear! And an exposed arm / tummy / back for a fluorescent tattoo!!

Mai mixing tunes

Tong Nai Pan Yai.....the one bar open late everynight, playing tunes and people droping in and out.
DJ Mai mixing the tunes and a twice a week beach party featuring fire dancing, a fire ring and fireworks.....they love their fire!
Anyway, a good place to chill and meet other people staying on the beach. Most nights pretty quiet with small groups of people sitting around tables and beach.

BUCKETS: Enjoy one or two.....MAX!

The famous BUCKETS are everywhere on the island...no place more prevalent than Hadd Rin on any given party evening. Each bucket includes a Micky (or little smaller) bottle of spirits...a bottle of red bull and a mix of coke or sprite. You can choose your ingredients...all for 150 baht or $4.50 Canadian.....served with a bunch of straws as they are meant to carry around and share with friends....very competitive prices on Hadd Rin....significantly more expensive buying from a bar on the island....get creative and buy the ingredients at the store...better yet, throw a party!

Beach: Beach party

Fire juggular.

At night every soul on Had Rin goes to the beach to drink voldka buckets drop pills and generaly party. Theres no 2AM closure here like the rest of Thailand, the party is over when the sun rises and thats just because most people are to wrecked to go on.
There are about 15 bars on the beach. There is a big mix of music also from cheesy disco classics in the Cactus and Drop In bar to the hard techno in the Zoom and Vynil Club.
The whole night scene can go dead after Full Moon and will only really fill up about 2 weeks before the next one. The week before the Full Moon is actually better than the night itself according to a lot people who i disagree with.

Dress Code: dress code, c'mon!!
Most people will wear sandals incase they stand on broken glass but i used never bother because i used always loose them and come home with someone elses. Anyway i never cut my feet, except that 1 time i got bitten by a dog, i think ive gone off the point here but you get the message.

A great place to start and end the night....sit out overlooking the beach.....bars, lights, and fire shows....great music to chill while sitting on the pillows on the floor. People mix and mingle around the low tables (thai style)...
Dance if you want....no one gives a crap...
Cold beers, coolers, smoke and shakes available...have fun!

The famous full moon party attracts thousands of people every month. Many bars spill out onto the beach playing a variety of music, from rnb to funky house and techno. Drinks are cheap. Beers are around 40 - 50 baht (around 65p). Buckets are sold for around 150 baht and have loads of thai whisky in them, great value!

Dress Code: Anything goes, its a beach party afterall!

i went to a psytrance party in the middle of the week, supposedly up a waterfall but there's only like a trickle of water. the place is suitable for the most hardcore ravers.

there's UV paints all over, cool air (cos we're quite high up the hill) and similar crowd...

it went on till mid morning.
