    Bring minimums

by Teledude Written Jan 5, 2004

    4.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Luggage and bags: You don't need much so a small bag will do

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Beach wear, flip flops, hat, sunglasses and light hikers if you want to explore more

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Bring whatever you may need. Although you can get most things here, they may be out as they only carry small supplies. Also they are just different. Bring meds, sunscreen, eyedrops, whatever you use daily.

Photo Equipment: Waterproof cameras, or bring sturdy waterproof/sandproof bags. Always keep your camera clean and dry especially around saltwater and sand. This isn't easy

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Hiking wear is great. The island has some great short hikes and you'll need something more than flip flops

Miscellaneous: Towels, beach blankets, frisbees toys etc. But don't over pack. Most of the resorts have everything you will need

    HaRin Beach, Koh Phangan (THAILAND)

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Shorts, sleeveless shirts, tank tops, sunglasses & chic swimwear. Lightweight synthetics breatheble outfits is better than cotton, it draw sweat away quickly, suitable for beach. Slip-on Shoes or Sports shoes are highly recommended especially when going out party at nite, lotsa broken glasses on the beach.

    my laundry on the right

Miscellaneous: Laundry everywhere...its the one service you can always find. We did laundry every other day...in little bits...jeans/ts and underwear....would cost about 100 baht for the two of us....everywhere we went we did laundry. Came home with a clean backpack of clothes. Therefor, you can also bring less clothing ..only a couple of each..the rest you can buy.

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Luggage and bags: backpack is enough, don't tug the heavy suitcases into the island.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: tee shirts, shorts, slippers, sunglasses, bikini.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: pharmacists are everywhere so if you want to pack light it's fine.

Miscellaneous: i brought enough to last me a few days. when clothes ran out, i sent it to the housekeeper for laundry. real cheap and fast.

Not much u cannot get here!

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Luggage and bags: Backpack recommended. You'll have a hard time wheeling suitcase around. Plus, you'll probably feel really out of place!

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Warm Weather gear: Tees, Berms, Sarongs, Bikinis, Slippers, All terrain sandals (if you wanna visit a waterfall or go trekking).
Raincoat (for the passing showers if you visit during Oct-Nov

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Essentials: Mosquito repellent, Mosquito coil (but everything is available from the minimarts that are everywhere. There are also many well-stocked little pharmacies on the island)

Photo Equipment: Waterproof cameras (for the snorkelling trips)

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Bikinis and board shorts, Sunglasses and Hats

Pack light... can't stress it enough

Luggage and bags: backpack works well here

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: flip flops and a pair of tennis shoes if you plan to do any hiking

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: girls, tampons.. they are hard to find here

repellant is easy to find here

Photo Equipment: digital cameras, bring in any supplies for a digital that you may need, I had trouble finding a memory card for my camera in Bangkok, so I assume they will be almost impossible to find on Ko Phangan

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: you can buy a cheap sarong on the island for laying out on the beach. I liked this better than a towel because big beach towels are so bulky

Miscellaneous: bring things to keep you occupied if you are planning to relax here for a while, walkman, crossword puzzles, book. I found these things very handy.

Waterproof sunblock & plenty of it!

    Sunrise Beach

Miscellaneous: The other half of sunrise beach, a beautifull keyhole shaped beach. Lights appear on the hills at night and you realise that some lucky beggars are actually living up there. Spent all day playing in the surf and burned to a crisp, dont forget a good waterproof sunblock.
