  • Delicat & Sens Restaurant: A real good time of culinary and sharing!

by EvaLanotte Written Jul 4, 2013

During my stay in Koh Phangan, friends recommended me the Delicate & Sens restaurant in a coconut grove at the Coconut Lane Villas resort.

The restaurant offer food only for lunch. It had just opened and we were one of the first clients.
We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and at a very reasonable price. We only paid 180 THB / dish!!

We chose the Asian noodle soup with mixed vegetables and fish
and Koh Phangan squid, Japanese mushrooms and cajanus, white butter with Thaï basilic.
We loved it, it was beautiful.

We met the chef who is a young French and we felt his passion through his fine food that we could describe as original and refined.

We had a great time in this peacefull place. After the lunch we could enjoy in the beautiful pool.

For our next visit to Koh Phangan, the appointment is made!

Favorite Dish: My best advice is don't miss the home baked sweets for the tea time!

  • Haad Yao Lounge: Don't miss the best sunset on the Island!

by PdJ Written Jun 16, 2012

The location is beautiful with amazing sunsets. The atmosphere in the lounge / restaurant is really relaxed and romantic. Drinks and food are very cheap but original and high standard. The staff is very helpful and friendly and can give you good tips about parties and things to do on the Island.

After a work out in the Fitness and chill out in the Sauna, go enjoy your breakfast, lunch or diner in the lounge and watch during happy hour the sunset!

    Wow, wow and wow

Favorite Dish: Creen curry and Masaman...mmmm The best on the Island and really original..!

  • CRAVE restaurant and lounge: my favorite restaurant on the island

by Zeetee Written Jun 14, 2012

    This is a great place.

It's so clean and comfortable to sit. The food is canadian/american style. Amazing burgers (they call them SEXY!!!) Really good chicken wings and pork ribs. Real fries and mayos that they make there. The salads are to die for and they also got a small variety of tasty thai food.
I basically had almost everything on the menu.

The ambiance is quite chill. Music goes from loungy to alternative but never too loud.
Free pool table and some games and old magazines. Oh and a big screen tv showing sports, travel channels, movies depending on the mood.

I think they are always closed on tuesdays and they open at 5pm.
Its on Haad Yao beach just opposite the famous 7/11.

Go there and enjoy. The staff and owners are great too.

  • Lake Hut: Huge Rope Swing

by greggreview Written Jul 16, 2011

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Food was great here, very high standard for such reasonable prices. Staff was very friendly and welcoming, to my girlfriend and I, and the rope swing was insane. Its free to use, and is sooo scary, but good fun, highly recommend going to this restaurant in the day for all the water activities, although i havent been at night yet.

Favorite Dish: The Pizza was great, they done have set Pizza dishes, but you have to customise yours instead. I had a Bolognaise, Peppers and Onion Pizza, that was absolutely tasty!

  • Mediterraneo: That thai woman really makes pizzas !

    by tom5025 Written May 26, 2011

Quite a small italian restaurant, only 16 to 20 seats.

I think it's a new restaurant, the thai woman who makes the pizzas will welcome you, propose you drinks, make pizzas for you, chat with you, offer some bruchettas and wine if you come often to her restaurant, and, she's thai and makes pizzas, the world is upside down now it seems, and the pizzas she makes are actually made from fresh ingredients and are well cooked, and for the price she asks, it's good to have some pizzas when you are fed up of 2 weeks of thai cuisine.

The restaurant is clean and i would say half occidental half thai architecture, i say that concerning the building.

She really deserves to be known further more to at least have a constant flow of customers as she's a bit hidden next to the kodak shop in thong sala main street.

I would recommend it to anyone, as i am confident she will take care of them really good.

I hope she will stay the same as she gets known and have success.

    Briefly, i recommend it.

The price range i put is for the whole thing, from entry to dessert with 1 to 3 drinks, so count less if youre going to get only the main dish.

    Favorite Dish: Bruschettas and pizzas.

She also cooked us a salmon steak which was really good too, and offered some bruchettas quite often, and some wine, real good wine for thailand, and she is a good italian cooker for being thai i can tell !

  • Luna Lounge, Thonng Nai Pan Noi: Lovely ambience, great people, amazing food

by kungmana Written Jul 24, 2009

We loved luna lounge, it is the perfect restaurant, great thai food, wines, interesting menu and lovely coctails - they are famous for their mojito. Makes a good contrast to resorts and the basic thai food shacks, offering comfort, wonderful service and good food. Also very comfy sofas and nice music and decor.

Favorite Dish: Phi Phi chicken- Chicken breast stuffed with mango salsa, served with delicious mashed potato and stirfry veg. Their lamb massaman curry is also fantastic.

any given restaurant serving western food: Pizza and Pasta beware!

by LakeFever Updated Sep 9, 2008

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Becareful.....if /when you are trying to boost your morrale or some sort of stomach ailment you think needs some good old western food watch out for the pizza or pasta.
Anyone whos been to SEA before knows how this one goes....youre starving but only for something familiar........I dont know....the pizza looks good - theyve got many varieties.....yummmy........
Pizza arrives and its a piece of dough in some state of over cooked, undercooked or even raw.
Worst part is yet to come.....take a bite.....
Wait a minute the sauce tastes funny.....did I put ketchup on this thing???/What did I order?
Low and behold the tomato sauce on the pizza in all its layered glory, is Heinz Ketchup.
Sometimes its a blend and sometimes 100% pure ketchup! Nothing to wolf down on a hungry stomach....enough just to send back and go with the fried noodles or rice.
This also applies to pasta.....nothing like the most expensive meal youve had in days going better as a side for grilled cheese. For some reason they just cant seem to make decent tomato sauces - or even at least tolerable.

NOTE: this isint for or at every place.....if you really need to eat one of these dishes best to ask around to others first.....make sure you inquire about the sauce.

    Yikes

  • Top Picks: Restaurants in Thong Nai Pan Yai

by girllrig Updated Mar 19, 2008

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

There is a lot of bad food in Koh Phangan. Most restaurants have very little creativity or just stamp out typical fare that is catering to farang tastes rather than real Thai food. I often stay in Thong Nai Pan Yai and the top picks are:

    1) Na Thong restaurant- this is on the main road on the left as you come into Thong Nai Pan Yai. Most locals eat here. Standard (but good) Thai food.

    2) Boozy's Deli- run by an israeli couple- very fresh, high quality food prepared right in front of you. Steaks, pastas, middle eastern food, desserts. A little expensive but worth the cost.

    3) Chai Ya Restaurant/Bar- great European style dishes like Steak Au Poivre. Also decent Thai food. Friendly staff, ask for Mai who also makes paintings and tattoos.

    4) The Isaan shop- in the daytime, back behind the main road. Cheap and good isaan food such as somtam (papaya salad), namtok moo (spicy pork salad), grilled chicken, sticky rice.

    5) Memory Restaurant- off the main road. Decent noodle soup and thai dishes.

Nearby in Noi Beach you might also try Ban Pong's for great food, and Que Pasa for Mexican dishes that are surprisingly pretty good. Also recommended is Rasta Baby Restaurant.
