If you have a craving to do some haggeling with locals, head right from the pier to Tonsai Village. Every type of cheesy tourist item can be had here. The area is literally crammed with shopping options for about 5 blocks intersecting with each other. There are also a ton of restaurant and bar options. Here is the place for ATM's, money exchange, internet cafe's and travel agencies as well. Even if you are not into shopping, this area has a very energetic vibe just to stroll around in and people watch. This area also has cheaper accomodations compared to beach front.

Loh Dalum beach will be more of your thing if you are craving a beautiful beach, but with plenty of busy action, especially among the young backpacker set. The beach is easy to get to. As soon as you jump off the ferry, the beach is on the opposite end of the pier, so just walk a straight line across the village of Tonsai. There are tons of places to eat and drink, right along the beach. And at night, this beach is famous for some outragous fire dancing performances and awesome techno dancing right until dawn. I would say best for people under 35.

The famous Long Beach on Phi Phi Don is the place to be if you want the ultimate in physical beauty and relaxed environment. Beautiful white sands complement a crystal clear shallow reef. The scenery is great, but I will say I wish there was more wave action for swimming, also on some parts of the beach the water can have quite a few rocks embedded in the shallow water. So overall, not exactly a hard core swimmers paradise, but definately a snorkelers delight. Still, what a wonderful place to chill, take a dip, read a book, grab a chang beer at one of the many beach bars and restaurants that line the beach, and realize what a lucky rascal you are for being there.

We booked a "Sea Angel" day cruise from Patong in Phuket to the Phi Phi islands for 1000 Thai baht. (AUD $35)
It was a sunny hot day and the water was so calm and smooth.
The scenery was amazing really with the islands jutting out of the water like city sky scrapers.
This was great value for a days trip I thought beause it included a full buffet lunch plus transfers to and from the Boat plus snorkeling over a coral reef near Phi Phi ley island.
We also had a few hours free time in Phi Phi Don island to relax on the AO Loh Dalam beach and to check out the shops .
The Captain who's name was Mon was a great guy who was very helpful and informative and we chatted most of the way home.

We joined a group of Thai friends on a liveaboard diving trip for 4 days 3 nights around the islands of Southern Phuket and Phiphi on board MV Vilaisamut for about 7,000 Baht all dives, meals and accommodation included. Dive sites we went to were Hin Bida Nok (saw leopard shark), Phiphi Lay (like an aquarium very pretty shallow wall), Phiphi Don, Mosquito Island, Hin Klai (lots of leopard sharks and a baby white tip shark), King Cruiser Wreck (nice large caverns and staircase), Anemone Reef (tons of anemone very colorful and leopards sharks again and seahorse) and Shark Point (of course Leopard sharks and seahorse again). Didnt expect diving in this area to be great, but it WAS!

Suggest to leave early around 7AM - 7:30AM from Phi Phi Don to catch some relaxing time at Maya Bay. Starting 9:30AM onwards, loads of tourists will be coming and the place will be swarmed with people. Other alternative is to go during low season to catch some rest and relaxation as there will not be as many crowds.

It's a cave in Phi Phi Le island, the smallest of the Phi Phi islands. You can take a boat to the entry of the cave, where you go off at the wooden jetty and walk inside the cave. But it's not much to see inside the cave except for birds and their nest in the roof.

Take the day trip out to Phi Phi.
A full day of snorkelling and simply relaxing.
If you book your Phi Phi island tour through your resident hotel, you will be given a departure time as well as the expected time of arrival at the end of the day. Most hotels have their own guide who will accompany you on the tour.
You will be taken to a pier or beach where you will be taken by high- speed boat to the island.

During this trip to Phi Phi we noticed signs around the island promoting this 1/2 day adventure. Near the end we decided to book one of these trips and see what it had to offer. Well all I can say is that is was well worth the price (around 800bht each) and I can't wait to maybe try the full day next time.
After paying for the trip we waited to be picked up at our room, and by around 2:00pm we were on our way. The trip lasted close to 5 hours and included all of the following:
MONKEY ISLAND (Saam Had)
VIKING CAVE
PILEY LAGOON
LOH SAMAH BAY
MAYA BAY
At the end of this trip you will have a change to watch the sunset and take in some nice views. The trip also provides the following items free to the guests:
MASK,SNORKEL, FINS
LIFE JACKET
KAYAK
TEA, COFFEE, WATER
FRUIT AND FRIED RICE

Most boat tours that offer snorkelling will take you the sheltered, clear blue waters of Ao Lo Dalam which is a part of the Ko Phi-Phi National Marine Park.
Water temperatures are around 27-29C all year round so it's an idael temperature for spending hours in the water exploring this magnificent marine environment.
