Phi Phi Charlie has a good restaurant and the prices are cheaper than Patong. However if you add wine to your list then the tab does go high. The best thing would be to buy booze from Phuket town before your trip to Phi Phi. Lots of booze available at Tesco Lotus.

Favorite Dish: BBqued prawns were good and so were the pork chops. Generally the food was good. They have a good bakery too but did not get to try it. The stuff looked good though. Could not sample much as we were staying at the Phi Phi Princess which is also good.

Being a main tourist area and a bustling beach town, phuket has many options for the tourists and one of the options in island hopping around Phuket, Krabi, Phang Nga Provinces is via a speed boat but hiring a private speed boat for a day of island hopping around phi phi islands, krabi islands, james bond island, similan islands, khai islands, koh lanta islands and more will set you 30,000-50,000 baht for a whole day boat rental (the price is for the boat and if you are only three persons, divide this by a three and if ten person, divide by ten) depending on the route and the number of islands visited (example is phi phi island and khai island only or krabi + phi phi islands + james bond island or Phi Phi Island + Koh Lanta island, etc). the private speed boat is up to ten persons only and lunch and park entrance fees are not included, just the snorkelling equipment and free water and juices. if you want to have it cheaper, then just book a speed boat tour of the assorted islands with a big speed boat for 35 people at the many travel agencies in and around phuket and the price will be 3,000-4,500 baht per person and it includes everything like park entrances and free drinks and juices and snorkeling equipment and even the buffet lunch.

If you booked the big boat or the speed boat phi phi islands tour, chances are that the Phi Phi National Parks Entrance fee of 400 baht per adult and 200 baht per child fee is included in the package you pay at the tour agency, however, if you booked a long tail boat or a personal speed boat tour, then the admission fee is not included, so you have to pay it at the booth fronting the beach in Maya Bay in Phi Phi Le Island as all Phi phi Island Tours go to Maya Bay. The park booth is located near the public restroom and is open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm everyday and the park entrance fee covers the permit for all the six islands of the Phi Phi Island Group.

Thanks to leonardo di caprio and the movie the "beach", maya bay in Phi Phi Le became the star attraction of the islands in the Phang Nga Bay and such that it is packed full of people everyday, even in the lean rainy season months of may to october as more then 30 speed boats and long tail boats converge to the small 400 meter main beach of maya bay to off load the thousands of tourists going everyday and you would hardly find a private spot to to sun bathing or swimming and snorkelling. the worst time to go here is in the morning and there is less people if your phi phi island tour goes here in the afternoon, unfortunately our tour was here in the morning hence we were packed like sardines in the beach.

there is a single designated smoking area at Maya Bay in the beach just beside the park ranger hut where the tour guides pay the entrance fees to the Phi Phi Islands National Park and a single trash bin with cigarette tray on top. you are only allowed to smoke there and throw your cigarette butts at the trash can and if you violate this and smoke at the beach front near the shore, then prepare to pay a 2,000 Baht fine per offense.

Unique Suggestions: don't smoke around unless in the small area beside the designated smoking spot
