Legends Bar is located on the main road in Chaweng, and is a great place to hang-out, have a drink, and reminisce about the times before techno, hip-hop and trance. It reminds me of a cross between a British Pub, an American Biker's Bar and a backpackers' cantine or diner.
Regular competitions to test your knowledge on music such as Queen, Aerosmith, Blondie, Def Leppard, etc.
The cocktails are great, and major sports events (past & present) are shown on tv screens around the pub.
Kick back and relax at Legends, especially if your feet are sore from dancing at the Green Mango :-)
Dress Code: Basically walk off the beach and into the bar!
We were here on various nights, and Legends was always busy. This is also the place where I became addicted to playing Jenga (which gets tricky after a few Mai Tai's...)
I found this short advertisement about Legends in a nightlife brochure at our hotel desk:
"No Techno, No Spice Girls, No Boy Bands! That's a promise we make at Legends Bar. From our collection of over 200 Cds and more than 50 music videos, we play only the best from the 60s to the 90s."
Oh yes, music from a time before "X-Factor" and "American Idol"... sounds good to me :-)

A must see when coming to Thailand and such a good night out. The Star Club caberet starts around 10-10.30 and is great entertainment. Watch the Lady boys prance up and down and sing to classic camp songs. Absolutely gorgeous figures so ladies try not to get too jealous! ;)

Unfortunately we missed the full moon party on Koh Pha-Ngan but we did go to the half moon party in Chaweng. Really good music (house, trance) and a really friendly atmosphere. Of course there's a fair amount of drugs around too which you would expect at these kind of events but it's easy to avoid. They sell buckets of drink (vodka and redbull etc..) and there are a number of stalls to get some food. There are temporary toilets put up for the event but they don't provide loo roll, you have to pay for it, so keep some in your pockets!
It starts getting busy around 1-2 in the morning. Really well organised, plenty of cabs to take you back to your accommodation. Dance til sunrise!!

The Sweet Soul is situated at the top of Soi Geeen Mango at the foot of the Green Mango on the left hand side. A lot of people I spoke to this time Tourists & locals (expat & Thai) actually prefer this spot to the Green Mango.I personally found the music better than the Green Mango. There are 4 bars in Sweet Soul , you can either go to the bar yourself or they have people walking around to serve you so you never have to move far from the dance floor. It does get a bit crowded but they have large fans positioned around the place so it is advisable to position yourself near one of these.

The Moo Bar is situated at the very foot of the Green Mango on the right hand side. The Moo Bar is another place to dance, a fairly small partly open air area with 2 bars & people walking around taking orders while your enjoying the beat There are seats on a raised area near the top bar and is not a bad place to watch people letting their hair down.
The music as in all the dance clubs is fairly loud but this is a distinct advantage if you are having a disagreement with your loved one because you cannot hear her telling you what a ba*t*rd you are.
The only thing I didn`t like was very drunk people stumbling in because they either can`t get in to the Green Mango or have been asked to leave it.

Viking Bar is a Scandinavian themed bar. It is a place where people can come in to meet with friends (old and new) and just have a pleasant time without being hassled by the staff.
Although this happens to be the bar that my husband and I own, we have many testimonies from customers from all walks of life who have enjoyed themselves in our bar. Many actually come back to visit us whenever they are in Samui.
Viking Bar also has the best happy hour deal in this hotspot. And the best thing is that you can choose to listen to your own favourite music from the 3000+ list of songs that are available. But do remember that others would like to listen to their choice as well. So, we would really appreciate consideration in that area.
And if you feel you are a very fast drinker, have a go at our Shots Competition. You can also try our Yard Of Ale competition if you are more of a beer drinker. Or just have half a yard if you do not feel like having one yard.

The Reggae Pub is by far the best place to chill after a day of volleyball or playing in the water. It’s a multi-story complex constructed from indigenous hard woods boasting the BEST sound system on the island. It is family owned (a very extended family I might add) and the employees are most friendly and willing to help you plan your daily activities. The music is . . . Yo man, pure natty dread!
I get the feeling that there is an extreme rivalry among the locals for the nighttime tourists as I heard that a rival family torched the Pub several years ago and the current structure is the "new and improved" pub. Whatever the story is the result is very nice. There are two or three bars, a main dance floor on two floors. There is even an outdoor cinema on the grounds.
Please remember to tip. That bartender, waiter or waitress makes less than the cost of a tee shirt for a 10 hour shift! The tee shirt girl, even less.

Night life.
In this island there is a lot’s of place to go. For the clubber like me, we can go to the chaweng coast; there is a lots of entertainment place like pub, disco and shopping center, because I like to shop a lot. But from the place where I stay, the nearest place for entertainment is at lamai, you also can find so many pub, place to shopping. Sorry people I always talk about shopping, to me there in Thailand can me my shopping paradise though.
