Chaweng Beach would be good for somebody who likes big crowds and noise. Also, be warned, the touts are fairly aggressive here. I overheard one beach goer to basically tell this tout to 'Leave me Alone, thank you.' Marketing websites will say the beaches are filled with white sands. Not really, more brown than white. The sea is fairly clean, though not as nice as the Andaman Sea. I guess this would be a good beach if you are looking for a spring break type vibe. What is nice is that at night most restaurants on the beach put out cushions under candlelight for people to chill. Also some have fire shows at night.

Is it a man is it a woman? A night out in Chaweng is a must when you are in Ko Samui. There are lots of bars and restaurants as well as markets.
