Found this place on our penultimate night unfortunately, but will definitely be spending more hours there when we next return! It is a little beach bar situated about three metres from the shore and has a great deal on drinks during their two hour happy hour each night. Alcohol is a little pricey on the island, so to find a place like this was a nice surprise, and its clientele were very relaxed and good fun to talk with. The usual drinks are served...Chang, Singh beer and cocktails.
So we sat on the typical floor cushions with back rest which you can see in the photo and watched the sun set which was amazing. Also played with all the beach dogs that roam from bar to bar! And when the sun has set they light gas lamps in the sand so people can see where they're going!A great night!

Sunsets can be quite spectacular if your staying on the Western side of Koh Tao. There a quite a lot of nice beach bars along Sairee, so choose yours and enjoy the sunset with a nice sundowner. If you've got lowtide in the evening, many bars put up torches on the beaches and you can lie down on cushions next to it. Occasionally you've got fireshows aswell.

Sigh.. what can I say that hasn't already been said about this photo!
Thanks to Jenniferchin (!!), half of VT has seen this massive soap dispenser, asparagus shoot, big sausage, creative "sculpture" etc.. standing proud and firmly erected in a bed of cement!
I can't even tell you where exactly this was, since we were stumbling around the bars looking for the toilets... but when I came upon it, it was a very uplifting experience indeed! Other photos in my album show how I thought it was a water fountain, with me bent over it holding on to the sides to search for a button to press... but you'll have to come over to my house to see that for yourself since I'm told VT is a family website!!! ;)

This was actually in the Big Bubbles Dive Center... Koh Tao being such a small island so everyone knows everyone else after a while, especially in your own little stretch of beach...
So it was sort of agreed that New Year's Eve would start off with a fantastic eat-all-you-can buffet spread at the View Point Bungalows restaurant (and much credit to Mu, the Burmese girl in charge of admin & organisation)... along with side helpings of "all natural herbs and ingredients" from fellow travellers...
Then we moved to the Big Bubbles lounge... for some dancing and chilling and letting rip our own fireworks on the beach at midnight!!
After that... most people moved on to Sairee Beach, which was the really happening party stretch of beach on the other side of the island.

This bar is home to all the Grand Coral Divers and has DJ's form all over the world (they come for diving, they stick for DJ'ing !)
The music is good and flexible to the audience, the drinks are superbly made and the price is normal. That means 45 bath for a beer and 100 for a cocktail.
Have been there every evening (not for drinking but for relaxing : think about that when you go diving !) and always had a good time !
Dress Code: no dress code, but they will appreciate when you arrive in your dive suite

This attraction is normally covered from the waist down during daylight hours. At night, anything goes.

You will find some very mild night spots that you can hang out around the island but concentration of these are near the jetty area and Sairee beach. I wasn’t here for it so never went to one.
