Irie ,.. I still enjoy when I think back .
Koh Lanta is a small island close to Krabi, its a relaxed island and they have the coolest chilling reggae bar in the south .
The first time we came in the bar was in the daytime, because we wanted to buy some nice jewelery to take home . Somebody told us to go to Irie , because they make everything by themself and my god ,....I wanted everything I saw! Really , they make real special jewelery and leather bags all my style!!!But even better. You can design something by yourself and they make it for you.
After staying around there for a while and talking to the owners (.they are so sweet and funny)we decided to go back in the evening ,..chilling and relaxing with a drink .
After that we went back every evening and even saw a thai concert over there . Great ! We really love this place and hope we will be back for more one day .
Thanks Koh Lanta . We love you !
and Irie, we love you even more!!!

This excellent bar is located next to where I was staying at the Grand Tower Hotel and is very laid back where you can lie out on the floor with your head propped up by a cushion or two whilst sipping a bottle of beer. The staff are a nice bunch of guys who bring your drinks to you whilst you chill out. There's a pool table, some seats outside on the road and the general atmosphere is a bit "U.S. college dude" with a lot of Red Hot Chilli Peppers type music thrown in for good measure.

What a fun place Rocky Bar turned out to be. The drinks are cheap, the staff are great fun and they have a couple of guys singing live.
You can request songs and they will try to sing them! Nothing is funnier than having a few drinks listening to Thai guys sing an Elvis song from a book that they have never sung before.
Angie and Di took over the place and everyone just loved their attempts at being stars!!
Highly recommend Rocky Bar for a fun filled night out. The bar is behing the shops in the general bar area on the beach rd Ao Nang.

Traveller Bar is a new modern bar to add to the Krabi nightlife, its a good place to meet other travellers whilst getting the cheapest drinks in ao nang, vodka redbull only 60 baht! The bar also sports, free pool, drunken twister! it has a full size twister board built on to the floor, It has an old school nintendo 64 in the bar to play on the big plasma screen, also funly chairs and the interactive duke box with so many tunes on. This bar is a must visit if you are in Krabi at ao nang beach.

Planet Ao Nang was about the most happening place in the area. The music here is a good mix, from Bob Dylan, The Doors to Foo Fighters, the Chili's, Arctic Monkies. So if you're into that music you'll be tapping you foot all night and saying 'we'll go after this song' all night until the bar closes!
The cocktails were good and cheap here too, the Margarita's were the best I've had anywhere. Oh and the nuts they leave on the tables are yummy, I wish I'd brought a stash of them back with me.
The atmosphere is lively with a good mix of people, we went back here night after night.

If you find yourself wanting to stay out a little later try the Fu Bar 11. Yes, it's another Reggae bar.
It was busy when we went and was still going at 4.30am when we left. They have a pool table, darts and connect 4. Drinks are of average price. It is relaxed with plenty of cushions on the floor for you to sit on as well as traditional chairs!
It is tucked away, but the large sign outside means that you cannot miss it.

Luna Bar is fantastic it is just on Noppharat Thara beach slightly outside of Krabi which is actually 16KM away. We spent New Years eve here 2006. The vibe from everyone was fantastic there was a mix of ages and social groups from traveller to older people with children. The drinks are very reasonably priced a cocktail for abot £2.50 which is great value in my opinion.
The music was great a bit of a mix of dance to chart pop but the DJ kept everyone either dancing or aleast tapping along to the music whilst looking out to the Andaman Sea.
Great spot highly recommend.

We had a very kind, friendly and helpful tourguide in Krabi. He's Thai and he willing to show us around at Krabi town for free. He drove us to the Krabi town which takes 20minutes away by car from our resort. It's just a small down indeed and we do shopping and we went to the local night market having our dinner. We ate the Pak-thai, it's really good price costing TBT 25 and delicious food. After this he brought us to the a place to have some drinks who you can enjoy the live mini concert. We really appreciate that he do such a favour to us.

We used to go on walks at night in the town. The strret has the beach on one side and stores on the other. Behind the stores seem to be another strret, so we decided to check it out. Well what we found was like 20 something bars all together with what we were sure were prostitutes. It was kinda weird and we just walked though and got right back out. But if your looking for a place to sit and have a drinka nd play some pool head behind the front stores and have fun.
