Noppharat Thara Beach
Located 6 kilometers from Ao Nang is a famous 3 kilometer long white sandy beach lined with Casuarina trees and coconut groves.
Noppharat Thara Beach is very popular for picnics with locals and can be quite crowded on weekends. So if you are after a Thai style getaway this is the place to go. During the week it is nice and quiet.
The beach is paved with tiny seashells and was formerly called "Hat Khlong Haeng" which means dried canal beach by locals, because the canal dries up during low tide and the area turns into a long beach.
The sea off Noppharat Thara Beach is part of the Noppharat Thara - Mu Koh Phi Phi National Park and is very beautiful.
You can also hire speedboats or long tail boats to take you to any of the outlying islands, including Chicken Island, Koh Poda, Koh Tap and the Phi Phi archipelago. At low tide it is even possible to walk from the beach across to Kok Kao Pak Klong Island in the bay.
There are a few very good open air restaurants here as well and it’s definitely well worth spending some time at Noppharat Thara Beach.

Walk from Aonang to Nopparat Thara beach
I took a walk following the main beach road from Ao Nang to this neighborhood beach Nopparat Thara. The beach is less crowded than Ao Nang, peaceful and quiet. It was a place to do beach walk as beach is long distance aound 3 km long and at the end is very nice area of National Park and main pier.
Noppharat Thara beach
Noppharat Thara beach is about a 15/20 minute walk from Ao Nang. It's a long stretch of beach and is less developed. The northern end past the canal and ferry pier is even more secluded area where at low tide it is possible to cross to a selection of 'islands'.
The pier at Noppharat Thara is where you'll need to go to pick up the Ao Nang Princess to Phi Phi Don.
Hat Noppharat Thara Beach
Located within 18 km west of Krabi town and just next to Ao Nang Beach, this quiet beach lies within the Hat Noppharat Thara-Ko Phi Phi National Park and features a 3 kilometre long sandy stretch lined by casuarina trees. The water was warm and clean, with smooth yellowish colored sand, A lovely place to laze in te sun and hang out for an afternoon. Got natural shade provided by the trees. You won't find miles of deckchairs and beach umbrellas, so buy a beach mat.
