A bit "touristy", especially in Ao Nang. There's actually more than 10 pizzarias and even a McDoland's there! Things are quite a bit more expensive here than in Bangkok too.
In a nutshell
Krabi is my favorite place in Thailand because there are more things to do in Krabi, and Krabi is close to other places that also have a lot to do (Pha-ngan, Samui, Phangan, Patong, Khao Sok, Phi Phi)
10 Reviews Along Aonang you can join a group tour for the 4 islands tour. It only cost us 400 Bht per person, which includes snokel mask, life jacket, Lunch, drinks, watermelon, boat ride. The trip is quite enjoyable however we joined a local group (group of 40) and the tour guide speaks 90% in Thai and only...
7 Reviews Take a challenge, climb 1237 steps to the peak of the mountain. Sounds easy, but remember that the steps are all different and most of them are higher than normal are. I sow there young and old but I don't definitely recommend this to people who fear heights or having some kind of coordination...
12 Reviews Be careful when you book this with a tour operator... The operator will try and fit as many people as possible onto a speedboat (we had 50 people on a 40 seater). Everyone therefore clambers to find the best seat The 1st stop was Maya Bay (where the beach was filmed). We were given 20 minutes...
6 Reviews What more can be said of Maya Bay. The country icon and a symbol of the pop culture after the filming of the movie The Beach on it´s shores in 1999. An impossing beautiful bay sheltered by 100-metre high cliffs on three sides, with many small beaches (some only exist at low tide) and a main beach...
Gastropod Fossil - Susan Hoi - Shell Cemetary
9 Reviews This place is also known as Shell cemetery or Su Saan Hoi where these large slabs of fossilised molluscs, from anywhere between 40 and 75 million years old, can be found. To tell you the truth there is really not a lot to see if you're not a specialist. Plus make sure you check the tide time table...
9 Reviews I was very disappointed that I could not fit in a visit to Chiang Mai in my itinerary for Thailand. I was looking forward to taking part in an elephant trek. Turns out, we were be able to do this Ao Nang! We rented a motorbike for the day upon our arrival in Ao Nang and as we were riding around, I...
11 Reviews From the Ao Nang beach, you can get a return Longtail boat for 200 Baht. They leave whenever they get 8 x people to fill it up. You're never really waiting very long for this to happen Once on Railay beach (West) where you are dropped off, you have a choice of this beach, or heading to the south of...
7 Reviews The are not many scuba shops in Railay but Railay Divers seems to be the one with the most friendly staff around. The Sunset Snorkeling organized by them is truly and experience not to be missed. A minimum of 4 pax is required before the trip can be organized for economical reasons. The trip will...
6 Reviews This is the second time I ride on an elephant in Thailand and it’s still as exciting as the first time. We enjoy the ride and our elephant was happily picking up leaves along the pathway and chewing and drinking water from the river. At the end of the ride we were given water and pineapples. It...
3 Reviews Just like the blue water around the coast and the islands, there are also two mineral rich blue/green pools of water in the hills around Krabi - Khao Pra - Bang Kram Wildlife Sanctuary It took us some 30mins to get there from the airport. 200THB (for foreigners) and 10minute walk through tropical...
4 Reviews Three Island tour, Poda, Chicken and Tup Islands. Chicken Island here we come, there is a small rundown beach bar/restaurant here so we had a lovely simple lunch of squid and prawns. Now this is Chicken Island and we saw the local wildlife, no not a chook, a fat well fed goose! We were going to...
5 Reviews The main island on a boat tour - Four Islands. Once again we negociated this down from 600 bath pp to 450. A small packed Paed Thai and water is included in the price. Lovely sand and lovely views, although the beach is not really wide enough for the amount of visitors. Loads of wild monkeys here...
2 Reviews The market is located in the middle of the town and is a nice place to wander around to see all the different types of fruit and veg including some strange looking green beans things that I've never seen before. There's also cooked and snack food to be have here with a couple of stalls selling a...
4 Reviews This is one of the smaller islands just off from Krabi included in the 4-island island hopping tour and is the loveliest. The beach is very small, no more than a large bump in the sea and is part of a 3-way sandbar between here, Ko Mor and Ko Poda islands which you can walk across at low tide....
7 Reviews Originally a fishing village, Ao Nang is now a major city beach resort which is far less developed than Phuket. They say it is like Phuket 20 years ago. But there is still plenty to do and lots of good restaurants, shopping and tours to various islands, jungle treks, diving etc. The views here...
4 Reviews This beautiful beach, surrounded by limestone cliffs is at the southern end of the Railey peninsula and was our last stop before heading back to Ao Nang and it really is lovely. Nice soft sand and turquoise waters, surprising really seeing the number of boats that come here during the day. Down at...
6 Reviews Pranang Cave is attached to the main land & is accessible from Railey Bay. Just a short walk ahead is the princess cave with a decorative spirit house. We just lay at the beach and took a short nap and had a foot massage. This is also where you can see "Princess Cave" or Tham Phra Nang Nok in Phra...
4 Reviews we stayed at west railay and went kayaking for almost a whole day! it's pretty cheap to do and there are many very cool limestone cliffs and little areas to kayak to. This is a very relaxed kayaking, me and my girlfriend dont go kayaking much at all and were able to easily navigate the water around...
4 Reviews Hire a motorbike or take a minibus a few kms outside of town to this awesome temple. Wat Tham Seua means Tiger Temple, and this one is perched high about the valley on a limestone outcropping. Climb up 1,237 steps to the top of a 260 meter high mountain peak and you're rewarded with amazing views...
3 Reviews We had no clue where this was but figured it can't be too hard to find. If you ask around, someone is bound to know. Apparently, there are supposed to be lights inside so you can see but they were not on when we went. We went back over to a a rock climbing rental place and asked if we could rent a...
