Our fun was to go in a small bar (often less than 20 seats) facing the big night clubs and look at the locals and having fun to observe tourist's reaction to ladyboys....
Dress Code: As you wish, sexy, sports, casual, etc.
The central party place in Phuket. All the bars look very similar, playing the same old music. They're either having bar top dancing sexy Thai girls (prostitutions) or soccer bars (I was there during Eoru Cup). I can say the partying is far less attractive than Bangkok & Ko Phangan. Sort of boring here! Not my type of places.
This is the place to go to if you like heavy metal and heavy rock.
It's not my kind of music, but I don't mind listen to it now and then. And I always feel safe at these kind of places. Nobody tryes to get nasty - there are way too many big guys in black and leather there:-))
The bands playing while I was there was good, not too extreem for me. "Smily" the singer was partying togeter with us at some discos and "normal" bars too.
Even some sweeds, rockers on vacation, was allowed to play there.
(I was there -97)
Dress Code: Black, black, black, leather, leather..... nah!
Come as you are. But think if you are too dressed up you will feel a bit out.
Jammin became my fave bar ever when I first time visited there. It's located in Phuket town, thou not in the centre but easy to find.
I went there only during the weekends, but I believe that the bands play during the week days, too. The idea is that there's a band and few singers, that all perfom either alone or together. They were mostly young Thais and they really surprised me with their skills!! The songs they play are the lates hits from Rock to Rn'b - I highly recommend everyone to go to Jammin if you're around :)
Phukets most famous Soi is Soi Bangla with a lot of nightlife to suit everyone. The amount of bars and women everywhere is pretty amazing. Never experienced this anywhere before. However its not as seedy as it seems. But those who want to see the seedier side can find it. We did not have any problems as a family. Infact my 8 year old had a great time and the girls at the bars loved her and had a lot of respect for families that were around the place. Drinks are comparatively cheap but more expensive than normal places in Thailand. However its a great experience and should not be missed
Dress Code: Bermudas, Shorts, Jeans, T shirts are fine.
However looking at the way the girls dress will give any of the top models a complex. Some are very beautiful.
Pattong is biggest place to be if you wanna have party on the island but unfortunatly it is hard to find a spot where you can chill and sip a Redbull Vodka without being surrounded by very friendly Thai girls. They did not disturbed us at all but it is not a pleasant situation to find ourselves among all that. Anyway, we were able to get drunk for less than nothing.
Dress Code: Whatever you want, girls are waiting for men who got money.
Better make sure you are single, and knows the meaning of safe sex..
If you are married, get your wife to dine in your room and then go to sleep without leaving it - otherwise any outdoor activities will be hazardous to your marriage!
Phuket is so much fun. I stayed in the Patong Beach area where there is so much to do, shop and people watch. This is a very touristy area where you can meet tons of fun travelers to hang out with. At night, the place turns into an asian Las Vegas Strip where there are a lot of dancing clubs and bars all next door to each other. Definitely recommend if you love to be an international partier!!
With the combination of many small bar counters and music at the ground storey, and dancing floor on the second storey, Tiger Entertainment Bar Beer is simply the biggest bar in Patong or perhaps Phuket.
From good liqours, dance floor, music, live band with DJ to sexy local girls, one can see Caucasians, Asians and Blacks all flocking to this bar.

all around patong beach there are hundreds of little bars. dont be put off by the girls trying to grab you and get you in. once you sit down at a table they generally leave you alone,( unless you are a bunch of guys out for that sort of thing.)get a table outside and you can sit for hours and be entertained by the goings on of the place. try molly malones for something different. on patong beach road. great food and beer and spirits didn't seem to be watered down.
Dress Code: whatever you want, boardies and a singlet, bikini and sarong.
Whilst in Phuket, a fun thing to do is have apub crawl around the bars, we found this was a great way of seeing and meeting loads of people. At many of the bars they have games for the punters to play, one fun game was head the nail into the block of wood, it looks easy, but belive me after you have had a few beers, its not so easy, but have ago and have some fun, i know we did
Dress Code: Anything goes
In Phuket there is allways a stream of people moving along the streets going from one place to another, all lot of the bars open on the street and its good fun sitting there witha cold beer just watching them go past.
You will see all sorts of folks, young old, married, those in love and then there's the girls them selves, they all ways have a smile.
So take time out to just sit and watch the crowds go by.
If you choose to get away from the over-touristy activities in Patong Beach, then Phuket Town has a few places that are good nights out. Timber Hut and Jammin' are two such places.
The clientele is mostly locals. There is live music and a lively atmosphere.
Dress Code: casual.
Ok Phuket has a huge range of things to do at night, after dinner there are many bars and disco's and life band spots to be found, the trick is to find one that you feel comfortable in, we where lucky that we found our little spot on our first night, not that we didn't go and look at all the other bars etc.
For those that like fine drinking there are some good spots along Patong Beach Road, just start at one end and go for a walk. For those that like the bright and flashing lights and the girls well Bangala Road would be my pick, there must be 200 or moree bars of every type. Here you will surley find what your looking for
Dress Code: Just about anything goes here
We found this little bar on our first night in Phuket, its called the Friends Bar and thats what it became. The owner's name was Boonsong and she was a great host. Tyler had his birthday while on this trip and Boonsong and her staff decorated the bar with ballons etc and also a birthday cake. It was a great night, its the kind of bar that you can go to during the day for a cold beer or after dinner and not get hassled by the girls, there's girls there if your so inclined but its up too you.
If you happen to go there please give Boonsong a kiss and hug from me ok.. THANKS
Dress Code: Dress code, just turn up in shorts and tee shirts
