Phuket is so much fun. I stayed in the Patong Beach area where there is so much to do, shop and people watch. This is a very touristy area where you can meet tons of fun travelers to hang out with. At night, the place turns into an asian Las Vegas Strip where there are a lot of dancing clubs and bars all next door to each other. Definitely recommend if you love to be an international partier!! Phukets most famous Soi is Soi Bangla with a lot of nightlife to suit everyone. The amount of bars and women everywhere is pretty amazing. Never experienced this anywhere before. However its not as seedy as it seems. But those who want to see the seedier side can find it. We did not have any problems as a family. Infact my 8 year old had a great time and the girls at the bars loved her and had a lot of respect for families that were around the place. Drinks are comparatively cheap but more expensive than normal places in Thailand. However its a great experience and should not be missed
Bermudas, Shorts, Jeans, T shirts are fine.

phuket in general is a beautiful island,patong on the other hand is englands equal to blackpool,,yes there are loads of working girls everywhere,some nice some not so nice,,,its the industry there,,so its all around you,,if this is not what you want ,the island offers other scenic locations which are stunning,,if you are a couple your probably better staying out of patong,,,then again,,maybe not,,whatever flies your kite,,
new closing times are being introduced on march 1st,,ive been told 1am,,,some even say midnight,,this will kill patong,,ill update on my return early may,,

Our fun was to go in a small bar (often less than 20 seats) facing the big night clubs and look at the locals and having fun to observe tourist's reaction to ladyboys....

Whilst in Phuket, a fun thing to do is have apub crawl around the bars, we found this was a great way of seeing and meeting loads of people. At many of the bars they have games for the punters to play, one fun game was head the nail into the block of wood, it looks easy, but belive me after you have had a few beers, its not so easy, but have ago and have some fun, i know we did

The Irish Bar on Beach Road ( before Soi Bangla) is an oasis for me cos they sell Strongbow Cider and is also a great place to people watch.
They have the usual array of TV's to watch the regular sporting events on and the staff are just great, and greet the weary travellers with a lovely cold towel.
The Thai food available here is simply awesome, excellent value, I recommend the deep fried prawns, 250 Baht for a whole platefull!

Jammin became my fave bar ever when I first time visited there. It's located in Phuket town, thou not in the centre but easy to find.
I went there only during the weekends, but I believe that the bands play during the week days, too. The idea is that there's a band and few singers, that all perfom either alone or together. They were mostly young Thais and they really surprised me with their skills!! The songs they play are the lates hits from Rock to Rn'b - I highly recommend everyone to go to Jammin if you're around :) Leave a Comment Theme: DancingAddress: Phuket Town
