Rock City: for those who want to rock!
Rock City is an impressive bar at the northern end of Beach Road on Patong that has live rock music every night. They have 3 great bands every night starting at 9PM. The first band covered a lot of Iron Maiden and Judas Priest songs, second band played a lot of the more modern rock songs like stuff from Green Day, Maroon 5 and such. The last band is always their U2/Oasis tribute band. Being musicians, naturally, my husband and I wanted to see this! What got us a little disappointed was that we were half-expecting local Thai rock bands to be performing and instead the bands were made up mostly of Europeans, i think, if not Australians. I think there were only 2 Thais I saw who played. But nonetheless, they played all the U2 and Oasis favorites. It gets pretty crowded here too and the crowd can get really rowdy especially when the crowd favorites are played. My husband loves U2 and asked if he could jam a song with the band but the band didn't want to, i guess, because they don't usually take any jammers up. But all in all, it was a pretty cool way to spend the night. But we left pretty early as we wanted to see some real local Thai bands. Rock City isn't exactly a very Thai experience since most of the people there were foreigners including the band.
They do serve up a really mean chocolate martini.. You can smell the alcohol even from afar!! Watch out for their occasional International Party nights where you get as much booze as you want for only 350Baht, if i remember correctly.

Phuket Bar: Watch the King of Rock and Roll!!!
Watch ELVIS!!! :D
Phuket Bar, right beside Banana Disco, hosts Elvis shows almost every night! It's a pretty fun thing to catch especially if you're an Elvis fan! If the Elvis impersonator is good, then great for you! If not, then there is still the chance of being amused by how bad his impersonation is. What we saw though was a pretty good impersonation if only for the singing! :D

Phuket Fantasea: Spectacular Show, not-so-spectacular story :(
You come to Fantasea for the show but really, I enjoyed the park more. When you get here, there're so many great things to see, you'll go camera-crazy here! There's also the Hanuman's Lair that will keep the little ones busy with the carnival games and all the cute stuffed animals they can win, not to mention all the fishes lit in black light that is just a sight. :) Shopping and other interesting side shows can also be found here. When it comes to the show that's held at the beautiful Palace of the Elephants, it was a great spectacle! I especially loved the acrobats hanging from the ceiling, that was very beautiful! but aside from that, I kinda slept through much of it. But only because there's not much of a story. It was a fantastic show but I just think it couldve been a lot better if they enrich the story some more. It kinda looked like they just put a story so they can have an excuse to showcase the other scenes. But nonetheless, the dances and scenes that I did get to see were amazing as far as execution.
Picture-taking at the show isn't allowed, by the way, so they will collect your video cameras and cameras at the gate but don't worry, the claiming is very very organized so you won't have to worry about getting it back after the show.
Show starts exactly at 9PM and ends 1030PM.
Dress Code: casual is ok but it does get a bit chilly in the theater so you might want to avoid sleeveless shirts or short dresses.Related to:

Sailor Bar: Sailor Bar
The Sailor Bar is located on the beach road just north of Soi Bangla.
This place is very popular with Aussies, especially during the footy season with live game broadcasts. We have watched the grand final of the footy here and the place was packed.
It is the front bar in 2 sois full of beer bars. As we always stay at the northern end of Patong its a good stop off for a rest and a drink.
Drinks are cheap and girls are friendly and not annoying at all.Related to:

Bangla Road: Patong's Hotspot
Soi Bangla or Bangla Road is probably Phuket's center of entertainment, especially for visitors to this beautiful island. It is relatively quiet during the day but the moment dusk sets in, Soi Bangla becomes alive with people, loud music and shops sellings all sorts of stuff.
The road is lined with many bars with sexy Thai women calling men (mostly foreigners) to come in and buy drinks or more. The Tiger disco is midway through the road with its huge tiger on the top and other open air bars surrounding it. Occasionally, lady boys stroll along and call out to men which is quite an interesting sight.
For me, strolling into Soi Bangla is just to satisfy my curiousity and watch the tourist industry in its full force. After the tsunami of 2004 struck Patong Beach, the area was devastated but quickly picked up and now is back in business

Relax Bar: Rural Thailand in Cosmo Phuket
This is my favourite bar in Phuket. It's set up like many bars are in the rural areas of Thailand - mostly outdoors with several park bench-type tables, live music at night and hostesses who regulalrly come by and top up your drinks. Here, they also have a big screen where you can watch international football or cricket. This is what initially got me to go in there. It's pretty quiet during the week but they can get a fair crowd on the weekends.
I got to know the staff really well and this became my regular haunt for the five weeks I was based in Phuket. If you want a genuine Thai experience away from the bright lights and high prices of Patong, head out to Relax Bar one night and introduce yourself.
They open from 5pm until 1am, 7 days a week. Sometimes you might be able to get a drink or two after closing time :-)
Place for wathin at Bangla Road
This is favourite people watching area. This bar played house or dance type of music (i forgot the name of the bar) but the location just next to tiger club, the visitor are not that interested to dance on the podiume, but they prefer to have a drinks and watch the lady boy dancin on the podiume with nice clothing or in half naked (bikini type)
Bangla Road always people favourite place for entertainment, along the road, you can find a lots of bars around the area and they play differents type of music even it just next to each other, so you can just walk and you can choose the bar which play your favourite music.
Banana Club: Nice house Music Club
This is the tip for you to get a drinks at the bar, because there is only a small bar for a thousand of people with 3 bar tenders, somehow they will ignore you. You have to be patient to get a drink, all you have to do, when you get to the bar just put down the coupon which you got it from the entrance counter, wait till they come to you, and if you raise you hands up with a coupon in your hands they will ignore you, and you also have to talk with them in thai, at least a little thai ask for a drinks and only then they will serve for you immediately. I got a friend with me who tought me to talk in thai, otherwise i have to wait there for ages, just to get a drink.
If you raise up you hands like that guy in the picture, you have to wait for ages for them to serve you.
Banana Club: patong beach area
The entrance for one person to get into this club when i was there are at THB300 and with 2 free drinks, i also got a gift, a shirt for a songran festival, very nice.
Banans club is the most club i like so far at patong beach road. They play a house music as well, aways pac with people, and they have one small bars for a thousand of people. which you have to be patien to get one drinks. I had fun with their music, much better then Live Band Club.
Bangla Road: The entertainment mile
Bangla Road offers all different kinds of bars and clubs and of course girls .... On the way to Bangla Road you'll find plenty of street vendors and restaurants, most with great outdoor seating area.
Depending on what ya looking for in Patong Beach there's sth. for everyone.
If you just wanna spend a nice evening, I'd recommend to sit down at one of the tables at a bar in the middle of Bangla Road and just have a few drinks and watch the scene, which is quite strange sometimes !!!!
You'll see all different kind of people - old horney men, young hookers, couples, the best dressed she-males ....
You can also just spend a night sitting there and guessing who is a real she and who's not ...
We sat at Soi Eric - a internet page on Patong describes it like that: Soi Eric
Situated half way down Bangla Road, Soi Eric is a complete street completely full of bars. Fairly unique because all the bars play the same music - which makes for a much more relaxed and less frantic atmosphere. Food, and good coffee can also be ordered from the end of the Soi and delivered to whichever of the few dozen bars you choose to sit in.
Dress Code: depends where u wanna go, usually casual evening holiday/ beach style
I guess the best thing about phuket if youre on a lads holiday is the nightlife. theres loads of it...massive clubs, bars, go go bars, ladyboy bars! be warned though, theres loads of transvestites and dodgy looking 'he shes'!
In 2005, the best bars were : Banana's, Suzy Wongs(For a laugh - get to spank girls), Tiger, Safari(i never went but mates said it was good), plus many many other bars for a beer!Related to:
