Rock City on the beach Rd has closed down. However their second venue is still open on Rat-u-Thit Rd, near top end of Bangla Rd.
If you want a night out with loud live bands, this is the place to be.
We never ventured inside Rock City at night, bit to noisy, but the place was always full no matter what time we walked past.
We always stopped here for a drink in their outside bar in the daytime. Staff are very friendly and we had a lot of fun with them on our drinking stops.
Try their watermelon juice, its great and icy cold!!.
Meals are reasonably priced and huge, the full menu is on their website. Theme: Eating and Drinking

The Soho Bar is located on Soi Easy, if you go onto Bangla Rd from the beach end its the first Soi after Scruffy Murphy's on your left, the Hollywood Nightclub is above it.
Bea the owner is a lot of fun to be around and she loves her customers to have fun, so be prepared for lots of games. There is lots of seating around the bar and I felt very comfortable here.
I have to say I wish we did not let Bea and Kai from Nicky's Handlebar talk us into going upstairs to the Hollywood nightclub around 2am and felt even worse going back to our hotel at 5am!
So if your in the area call in, have a drink and say hello to Bea and the girls. Theme: Adult Spot

The Quokka Bar is one of many in Otop markets and is a favourite for Aussies to stop for a drink and cool down after walking through the markets.
Easiest way to describe where the bar is located is to go through the main entrance of the markets which is off Rat-u-Thit Rd, turn left halfway down and you will see the Quokka bar.
The girls here, Elle and Mae are a lot of fun, nice to talk to and do not annoy people at all, unlike some of the other bars in the market area.

Ritchie Newton has spent the last 27 years as an entertainer, the last 10 of them as a very successful Elvis Tribute Artist.
We were lucky to see Ritchie at the Patong Beach Hotel and I must say we were a bit skeptical about going as my sister Angie and I were bought up on Elvis, so why would we want to see someone trying to take him off.
Well, were we surprised. Ritchie is fantastic, he can sing!! His costumes are amazing and he is a lot of fun. To top it off he is also a really nice guy.
We had a great night out singing along (Angie and I were Ritchie’s back up singers) using our swivel sticks as microphones.
So for a nights of laughs and fun catch Ritchie’s show at the Patong Beach Hotel and the Holiday Inn on beach road, (plus other various locations around Thailand).
Ritchie has recently signed new contracts with the Patong Beach Hotel and Holiday Inn Resort in Phuket. Check out where and when Ritchie is playing on his website below.

The Sailor Bar is located on the beach road just north of Soi Bangla.
As we normally stay at the northern end of Patong Beach the Sailor Bar is a regular drink stop for us.
The place is very popular with Aussies, especially during the footy season with all games broadcast live.
We have watched the AFL grand final here and the place was absolutely packed.
Drinks are cheap here and all the staff are very friendly and fun to be around.
Everyone, couples included are made to feel very welcome at the Sailor Bar. Theme: Other

I'm not going to go much into the nightlife of Phuket as there would just be to much to cover and its more fun to just go and try new places.
There are nightclubs, hundreds of little bars, Irish Pubs, English Pubs, Live Band Venues, Theatre restaurants, plus much more.
Some of these places above have already been covered in my Eating Out pages.
Some people hate Bangla Road and are very worried about the seedy side of things in Phuket.
You only see what you want to see, nothing is shoved in your face.
Sure, there are girls and some of our best nights out have been drinking and talking to the girls.
Bangla Rd is just like a big carnival zone, its lots of fun and everyone should go there at least once, its what you make it!! Theme: Adult Spot

Speedy's Bar is one of the oldest Aussie bars in Phuket and Speedy is very well known among the expat community and also has a large following of both past and present serving Military personnel.
'Speed' was a Vietnam Veteran serving more than 30 years in the Australian Army as a medic.
Gary first met 'Speed' in Watsonia Army Barracks before they were both deployed to Cambodia for a year with the Australian Force Communications Unit (FCU) as part of the UNTAC (United Nations Transitional Authority Cambodia).
Speedy's Bar is one of the oldest Aussie bars in Phuket and Speedy is very well known among the expat community and also has a large following of both past and present serving Military personnel.

His partner of over 10 years Porn (One of these days he's bound to pop the magic question) who manages the bar is the most lovely lady you could meet.
The working girls there are great fun and many an hour has been spent playing dice games etc with them and getting thrashed!!
One of the best nights I have ever had was when we went to Speedy's Bar last year (2006) and Speed and Porn had organized a surprise birthday party for my 50th.
They had a huge banner made which everyone signed once it was taken down, organized a beautiful cake and invited everyone.
It was a night I will never forget.
So call into Speedy's Bar and say hello, the drinks are icy cold and cheap, plus you can also order snacks there if you are feeling hungry.
It's a very honest bar and you will never have to worry about extra drinks being added to your bill!
Speedy's Bar has had a few changes.
The bar area is now bigger and there is also a pool table.
Absolutely no dress code.

Simon Cabaret
This is a Lady/Boy miming (lip sync) show. Its a good show with great costumes and sets and is suitable for all ages.
If you want to get someone stirred a bit by the comedians buy VIP seats, they are not much dearer.
Just watch out when you go outside after the show, beware of the Performers waiting for photo opportunities, they are Greedy and Aggressive.
Dont go over near them and it will be ok.
You can take photos during the show but definately no video cameras.

Had a Great Time at Seduction in January 2009.
They had a guest DJ Christian Erickson from Singapore/Los Angeles.AWESOME!
Excellent House Stuff & wished the nite never ended.
Good service & affordable beverages.
