There are still places on Phuket island where some of the forest is left. Looking at it is like looking at a green wall. I would not advice to go in there, though. As far as I know neither do the Thais. The reason is, that there are a lot of snakes on the island -and especially in the underbush - that are poisonous. Leave a Comment

On the northeast side of Phuket town following Yaowarat road there is Rang hills. In the middle of the park there is a statue of Khaw Sim Bee (1857-1913) government of Phuket for 12 years since 1901 also from the top of the hills there is a wonderful view of the south part of the island

While most of the areas in Phuket are famous for it s nightlife, beaches and shopping Phuket town is a small historical treasure with many old Sino-Portuguese houses(more than 100 year old located in Thalang Ranong Damrong and Yaowarat streets) many temples (Chinese and Buddhist) night markets and very nice small streets

Located on the south of Phuket island on the top of Nakkerd hill the is a huge statue that is been under construction for many years called the BIG BUDDHA It is consider for many people as Phuket new icon which is a 45 meter high and 25 meter width statue. There is also a smaller golden Buddha behind the BIG BUDDHA and a great view of Andaman sea
