Fresh Pad Thai while you wait by Tina-Perth We stopped for a very quick snack, as we were in a hurry. It is just a food hall, but we found the A la Carte Thai Restaurant where the guy cooks it right in front of you. We were fascinated to watch him cook and it was ready in minutes. There is a booth in the centre of the 'Food Park' which sells coupons. Buy your coupons there for any of the food or drinks and any left-overs can be redeemed for cash.
We all chose the Pad Thai, Seafood. It was one of the best Pad Thai's I' ve had and only cost 40 baht each. Just for a change, we decided to try a new resto that offers local dishes. Karaket A small restaurant that caters to Thai Dishes. The food is not really that good..though the price is about average. Their mango juice taste like apple while their iced tea taste like syrup. I wouldnt recommend this restaurant..

Savoey Seafood Sign by johnaalex Update - January 2006. I noticed that they add 10% and 7% tax to the bill, I am sure they did not do this before. UPDATE - March 2005. On this trip with my girlfriend, Jan, we have been back to Savoey twice, having good meals on both occasions. Along with the resort of patong it is getting busier and the fresh fish display at the front is as impressive as ever. I cannot eat prawns etc but Jan does and she asked them to prepare 2 tiger prawns and a crab in a red curry sauce. She says it was the best meal of the trip so far so give it a try if you like spicy food. There were several seafood restaurants along Thaweewong Road (the beach road) in Patong damaged by the tsunami. This was one of them, but it was also about the first to reopen. The display of fish, prawns and lobsters at the front of the restaurant was scaled down to match the greatly reduced number of tourists when I visited in January 2005, but the open air cooking area just behind the display was in full swing. There is one chef whose party piece is to set alight to some oil in his wok as he stir fries something so as to send a large flame shooting skywards. He is most likely to do this when people who are looking at the fish are close by just to give them a little surprise! Seafood is obviously the main attraction but they do also serve up some tasty Thai curries.

by junecorlett This is what I love about Thailand. We were on the beach at the Chedi Hotel. A local family had their own little restaurant on the beach, tucked away in the corner. The waitress brought us a menu, we ordered mouth-watering Thai food, and we were called when our table on the beach was ready. The waitress also kept us supplied with wonderfully cold beers and soft drinks and ice.
I dont remember what it was called. It was a noodle dish with seafood. Mild sweet chilly flavour. Leave a Comment Theme: OtherPrice: US$11-20 » Currency ConverterComparison: least expensiveDirections: Beach of the Chedi Hotel

by kenningst What can i say... nicely decorated restaurant, a 2 piece band with great food. A pineapple fry rice goes at 40BHT a plate, papaya salad goes at 50 BHT and the most important of all the beer goes at 99BHT a pitcher. Think you can find a cheaper place than this???
The beer - OF COURSE!!!! Karon Cafe Inn and restaurant is one of the best known places to eat in the south of Phuket and all their menu items are designed by American Chef Eric. All of the beef and lamb is imported from Australia and all main courses include the amazing complimentary soup and salad buffet. Karon Cafe's buffet breakfast is also one of the best on the island, the cost is only 125 baht per person - just love those tiny chili sausages. The setting is lovely with lots of greenery, the place is spotless and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
Absolutely love their buffet breakfast. Eggs cooked any way you want, unlimited supply of crispy bacon, small spicy sausages, potatoes, rice, hash browns, baked beans, toast etc etc, fresh juices, tea/coffee. It has to be the best place for breakfast!!!

We were drawn to the little place, on our last night in Phuket, which was crowded in contrast to the eateries around it. A look at the menu showed that prices were extremely reasonable. Service was prompt and extremely friendly and polite. Food was put on the table very quickly. We had **rice vermicelli salad with prawn & pork; **tom yam goong; **chicken with cashew nuts; sweet & sour pork; stir fried vegetables; 3 lemon juice with sodas; and a large bottle of beer, which cost us only THB600 (there were 6 of us)! It was so good that we went back for dessert after some shopping. Had banana split and **pineapple boat. Wished we'd found this earlier. Would've been great meals everyday, and saved us quite a bit.
