This was a full day tour, and besides Phang Nga (James Bond island), we went to 3 other islands. Although it rained the whole day, it was very enjoyable coz 1) the ship crew were really friendly and helpful 2) there was even an entertainment performance put by by the ship crew towards the end of the boat trip. You can really feel their sincerity and appreciate the little things they do for you, like giving us a hot towel after coming back to the boat from the canoe in the rain.
This package is by Siam Phuket sea canoe, though I suppose their package can be bought from different street tour desks, not sure. We bought ours from one of the tour desks that lined Patong beach road. It's in a shop that specialises in selling bikini and Hello Kitty stuff. Our package cost 1300 baht per person with buffet lunch onboard and free flow of soft drinks and pineapple biscuits.

This is a great bus and boat tour to do and you can organize it at any travel or tour agent in Patong.
There are many types of trips to do that include James Bond Island and Phang-na so take your pick between a full or half day tour depending on how big a night you want to have the night before I suppose.
The (Sims) half day trip that I did doesn't leave Patong until late morning or lunchtime and will pick you up from your hotel if your are staying in Patong.
The bus trip includes a visit to the the Buddhist elephant caves and the Muslim fishing village and a long tail boat ride from Phangna to James Bond Island.

This is a full day out including lunch at a floating Islamic Village (no booze allowed)
It starts of going off the island into Thailand proper to a property that sells refreshment, and you also get an elephant ride in a jungle type setting - quite fun. There is also an elephant show.
You then progress to the coast and get in a type of long boat and jet off to the Islamic Village built over the water for a beautiful lunch and time to wander round and of course shop.
Then back to the boat and off to James Bond Island. This is part of a national park and is quite beautiful. Its called James Bond Island as one of the Bond films was shot here.
After this, you get to do some ocean kyaking seeing some of the caves and sights that are available to the tourist.
Then back to the bus and back to the resort/hotel.
Well worth the day

Usually brochures at the airport or hotel will give information to book a tour to Scaramanga's Laser Cannon Facility.
Usually involves a boat ride and is usually packaged together with elephant rides, ox cart rides and canoe visits to Phang Nga Bay.
Take it for a day out. The fee includes lunch on a floating village.
If you want to shave THB200-300 off the tour, book the tour direct and not through the hotel/resort concierge.

After having lunch at Koh Panyee, the next stop of our tour took us to Khao Ping Kan, more popularly known as "James Bond Island", as some parts of the film (The Man with the Golden Gun) was shot here in 1974. It was drizzling when we reached the island (well, it is the rainy season in Phuket, and we were considered lucky that it wasn't raining as heavily as the previous day!), but that failed to dampen our spirits. We braved the rain and took these pictures.
There are some stalls that sold souvenirs on this small stretch of beach, most of them selling sea shells and jewelry fashioned from the shells. If you don't intend to buy, just ignore the sellers... I find them a tad aggressive on their selling tactics. One of them kept pulling my arm and asked me to visit her stall, although I told her that I wasn't interested. In the end, I just turned and walked off.

It has nothing special there but a rock "standing in the middle of the sea by itself.
You'll SEE the rock from the beach (approx. 20 m away) and take pictures. That's is!However, i strongly recommend trip to James Bond Island trip, with kayaking type package. It's fun!

Perhaps the best day trip on Phuket Island - If you have to choose one tour, pass the Phi Phi and go to James Bond. Either way you'll end up sunning/snokeling on the very same Island in the afternoon - all the boats (with all the company's) go there. But on the James Bond Tour you'll see the Mangrove Forests, Lunch at a Muslim fishing village built on stilts above the water, see the amazing landscapes and beautiful blue waters of the islands, and snorkel. We went on 3 boat tours with 3 different company's. They were so similar, no real difference in ammenities - but the James Bond tour stood out. Phi Phi Island is further out to sea and even in the calmer morning waters it can be a very jarring trip. Be careful if a storm is forcasted - your inners & back could be hurtin later. James Bond Island is amid the intercoastal waterways and therefore more protected from the weather and rough sea.

It is basically a very small island which held the shooting of the film James Bond : The Man with the golden gun, hence the name.Well nothing much to see here other than the picturesque view and of course stalls selling overpriced items to tourist.(refer to my Tourist Trap tips) Wouldnt really recommend, but most of the seacanoeing trip do stop over here. So,just have a look and snap some photos.

We took a van trip for about an hour to get over to a large estuary area on the east side of Phuket for the "James Bond Island Tour." Stopped along the way and saw a cave and fed some monkeys as well.
Without a doubt the best part was the boat trip out to the island and the almost surreal topography out among the islands. Without a doubt the most beautiful place I saw down there... James Bond Island itself wasn't anything special, but the rest of the trip was fantastic.
If memory serves it was something like $20-$30. The van ride wasn't great, but definitely worth it!
