    Because of sea erosion there are some caves worn out of the limestome rock.

    Breathtaking views can be had at this hilltop area overlooking three beaches, namely Patong (the furthest one with a tower), Karon, and Kata. It was a typical hot, sunny, and humid Phuket day and i'm glad we were there under a pavilion and able to admire such white sands, blue seas from afar and from which we had just passed, it's a welcome break from seeing each beach and wanting to jump right into the sea... . It was perfect for picture taking and 3 of us just had to take a picture with those beaches as the background. The pavilion was also, fyi, filled with black cats and "generic" dogs (brown) but i doubt they were able to enjoy the view.

    During the tour of Phi Phi Ley we been pass through the very well known Viking Cave.... We not go inside the cave but just see from distance and take picture... Adi (the tour guide) told us that inside the local people search for birds nest which used to cook and eat...He told that these nests are very good for old people to strengthen their whole body and were sold very expenseive..... It is the part of trip and like the idea to see it but time was short and may be next time.

    Enjoy watching airplanes "crash" into the trees! (Don't worry, the planes aren't noisy from across the beach and this photo was taken zoomed in). The airport is next to the far side of the beach. Gorgeous beach - see my other travel tips for full description. Excellent job done cleaning up tsunami damange, everything looks gorgeous!

    For just THB50, you get to rent the chair for the whole day! It's super cheap. :-) The local guy is really friendly and nice.

  • It was interesting to go throught the cave to see the rock formations. We got into the cave by a rubber float which seats 4 passengers together with one guide in front and a paddler behind. Next, we move onto sitting on bamboo rafts behing wading through the rest of the way. We were given miner styled headlights for us to view the rock formations in the cave. The cave is also called elehpant cave as there was a rock formation which looks like a white elephant.

    Katanoi beach (small Kata) is the last beach of the west coast. It's one of the most quiet.
