    One of the less crowded beach ( most crowded being Patong beach), the sea spray and rolling waves is good therapy for unwinding. As it is the beach surrounding the Laguna chain of resorts, you'll get to enjoy it at close proximity if you stay at one of the resorts there. But last heard from a friend who visited in late 2003, the beach has become a haven for touts, greatly different from what I experienced in mid 2001. Ah, the price of development.

    Our cabdriver took us to this wonderful beach where we could eat at the restaurant for just 50 THB!

    Spend a day on one of Phuket's supberb beaches. From Kamala to Kata Noi, you will be spoiled for choice. I am sure there are even more beautiful spots north of Kamala, but I haven't seen them to comment on yet! This is Kata Noi.

    The beach at the resort was absolutely fantastic and we had a great time there. A bit rocky getting into the ocean, but the water is lovely clear and warmish.

    The best way to have a peaceful day lying on the beach would be - Take a bike or car on rent and drive down further from the Patong beach. You'll see lot's of beaches, which are more beautiful, more secluded, less noisy, with clearer waters. Park and just stay there for the day and come back to the Patong beach area in the night for the action. I took a car and was driving away from Patong and saw a glimpse of what looked like a beach almost 200 meters below the road. I parked and i saw the Surin beach (see Pic). Beautiful and peaceful. Small but better if you want to have a good time sun bathing. There should be more like this.

  • Directions: If u r stading facing the Patong beach out to the sea....just take a right and keep going on the main road for 15-20 minutes. Best way is to take the road map from the tourist info centre at the airport of the travel desk at ur hotel and follow the road.

    The canoe escort is important part of the trip you know. Most of them speak some english and will tell you stories about the caves and lagoons. We were lucky-our canoe escort guy was the best english-speaking thai met in Phuket during our 11 days stay. His nick name was Mac (all the escort uses nicknames 'cause tourists are just inable to pronounce their real names). Mac took a very good care of us. You will be lucky being escorted by someone like him.

    This beach was even less crowded but the waves were much much bigger and dangerous. I did spot few guys doing Kayaking in such ferocious sea. This view we got from a view point along the road from Patong Beach to Surinn Beach and was excellant.
