    There are a few advertisement vehicles like the one in the picture moving around Patong streets, both day and night time. Very interesting!

    There are so many umbrellas with beach chairs along the patong beach that i believe its quite impossible to put your own mat down for sun bathing. 2 beach chairs with umbrella(s) cost about 160baht for the whole day. This is the price during the time when I was there so I am not certain if the price will differ during the peak season

    This is the main beach of Phuket, the most crowded, longest and the most "commercial" so to speak. This is where most of the action is. Being what it is makes the hotels near thi beach more expensive than the others. But then if you are one of those hwo love being near where the night life is, this is where you should be. You'll find water sports like Jet Skiing (approx. 1000 baht fo 30 minutes), para sailing (800 Baht), banana rides (lame), Water Skiing, Power boat rides. Ride behind you, just cross the road and you have a whole line of restaurants and shops. Everyone just walks over in their beach wear.

    You have heard about Patong Beach among others because was one of the most places damaged by the tsunami or because there is a good place for bars, nightlife......But honestly the beach is durty, durty, fulllllll of people, garbage and umbrellas and the water is brown, smell, hawkers offer you chairs, umbrellas, massages, tours, OH GOD!!!, better go to Karon o Kata Beach to spend a beautiful and peaceful day in a fabolous beach and if you want shopping or a beer or see a lot of people just walking or see lady boys or alone ladies or go for a good meat, hamburger or seafood, then go to Patong by car or tuk tuk, it's only 15 minutes.

    You will get to meet several "friends" along Patong beachfront. :-) They are the seahorse, the turtle, the dolphins and the dog. I'm sure they'd love to say "hi".
