    Phuket is a very spiritual place and many Thais practice their religion in small ways all the time. Then there are the impressive temples. Very worthwhile to take the time to visit these places. But it is a must to do so in a respectful way because these are very active centers of religion and spirituality.

    This temple is in honour of the revered monks, Luang Pho Chaem and Luang Pho Chuang, both of whom were famous for there work in herbal medicine and tending to the injured.

    You dont have to go far to visit a buddish temple. We just walked right in to a beautiful templearea of Karon Beach. A munk gave us a free guided tour around the area however it is polite to buy a souvenir from him. Remember to wear enough clothes when you visit the temple. Also leave your shoes outside so you wont carry bad spirits inside with you. Women, dont touch the munk or give anything to him. I had to give my camera to the munk through my boyfriend when he refused to take it directly from me.

    Such a majestic place. The gardens are lovely. There is a small museum and a couple of temples. One was very full with lots of people so we did not go in. we did however walk right up to the top of the main one. Each room featured temple paintings depicting Budda's journey. Once you reach the top you have a view over the whole grounds. Well worth the visit. A memorable moment of our trip.

    This is Phuket's most important Buddhist temple. The prayer hall contains the statues of three of the temples most famous monks: Luang Por Chaem, Luang Por Chuang and Luang Por Gluam. Luang Por Chaem is the best known and has given Wat Chalong its name as a place of healing. When visiting the temple people go to pay their respect to the statues of the monks, make offerings and ask for their blessing. I really recommend going to Wat Chalong, its beautiful. More Photos

    Located 3.5 miles south of Phuket Town, this impressive temple is Phuket’s largest and most sacred. It is best known for its gold-leafencrusted statues of three former abbots. One of them, Luang Por Cham, was especially respected for his medical skills and magical powers, which he successfully used when Phuket was attacked by the Chinese at the turn of the 20th century.
