Temples: Phuket's Most Important Buddist Temple
Wat Chalong is Phuket's most important Buddist temple, it is the biggest and most flamboyant. It is associated with the revered monks, Luang Pho Chaem and Luang Po Chuang, both whom were famous for their work in alternative medicines. During the miner's rebellion in 1876 they help put it down by mediationg the warring parties and mobilizing aid for the injured of both sides.

  • Directions: To get there, take Vichit Songram Roadto the Bypass Road and turn left, and drive for about 10 minutes. Wat Chalong is on the left. It is about 8 km from town.

    Temples: Day trip to Wat Suwannakuha, Phang Nga
    Wat Suwannakuha is called "Monkey Temple" or "Cave Buddha Temple" is a popular tourist stop for tours for Phang Nga Bay originating from Phuket. You will a lot of monkeys outside the temple for your photography and simian interaction delight. Inside the cave, there is a giant reclining Buddha as well as countless other Buddhas in different postures. Many are drabbed in orange safrom cloth. There will be many locals and Buddhist tourists offering their prayers and so be aware that this is a holy temple.

    a smal cave temple with some budha statues inside and outside you know why they call it monkey temple evrywhere there are monkeys some of them are really rude watch out for your stuff
