  • We tried travelling on the local Kata/Karon bus to Phuket town. It costs 20 baht per person regardless of the starting or ending point. It took us more than an hour to travel from the starting point at Kata to Phuket town. The bus comes at half hour intervals. But they may wait for more than 10min for passengers at Kata and Phuket towns, the starting points. We also noticed that there was a bus from Phuket town to Patong and each passenger pays 15 Baht.

    Not sure if i posted this on another page, but i flew them to Phuket too. Was anotehr scary flight. Although cheap i shat myself almost once again. Next time ill try another discount airline...

    By Air : Phuket Island is situated roughly halfway between Bangkok, the capital city of Thailand, and Singapore. Singapore Airlines and Thai Airways International both offer comprehensive flights to Phuket from the USA and Europe. Flying time is about 1.15 hrs from Bangkok. Phuket International Airport is 32 kms. from downtown Phuket. Resort hotels generally offer shuttle bus services into Phuket town Tuk tuks The closest thing to a taxi on the island is a tuk-tuk, a small red van with open side. While more expensive to hire than their three-wheeled counterparts in Bangkok, each one can seat up to five people. To get one, just wave your hands when it passes by and it will stop immediately if it is empty. The rate is paid by the distance traveled, not by the number of passengers - if the driver wants to charge by the person, wave him on and catch another. Fares must be negotiated before each trip. Buses to the beaches leave the town of Phuket from the market on Ranong Road every 30 minutes between 8:00 and 18:00. Buses to Laem Ka, Rawai and Nai Harn leave from the circle on Bangkok Road at similar intervals. Jeeps can be rented on Rasada Road and most beaches. Rates are some 700-1000 Baht per day excluding gasoline. Motorcycles can be rented at the same places. Rates are between 150 and 250 Baht per day excluding gasoline.

    My favourite airline for now..... :p Budget Airline from Singapore that makes travelling affordable! I paid $150 per pax including of all taxes... Now, where can I get that price for other airlines?? And mine you, that's not the cheapest ticket u can get to Phuket! You just got to wait for the right promotion at the right time.... Note: The leg space is abit too narrow but it's just a couple of hours journey so it shldn't bother you much...

    First we were driving completly alone from the Phuket town center to a beach near Phuket airport. Then children came on the bus and the crowd was so big I though someone will fall down of the bus. And after arriving on the bus station we realized that the beach was more than 5 km away ...
