 | Phuket Motorbikes Reviews | Tips 21 - 28 of 28 | | The best way is to rent a bike if you have less than 2 person, a bike will cost about 200-400bt for 24hrs (this price depends on season). As I normally put up in Kata, there are a few good bike rental there. All you need to do is to pay up and leave your passport there for safe keeping. Leave a Comment Theme: Motorcycle

The easiest way to get around in Phuket is to get a motobike! As I was visiting a friend in Phuket, I bunk in in his house and he bring me around town in this newly bought motorbike. My first time on a bike and one without a helmet too! In Singapore, it is illegal to ride a bike without helmet .... Thanks a million Francis for a good time I had in Phuket despite the rain! =) Leave a Comment Theme: Motorcycle

You can catch a bus (find out where the unmarked bus stop is, and the bus is the blue open~backed van, and you have to wave it down!), tuk tuks/taxis are usually waiting, or there are always men on motorcycles ready to drive you wherever. Make sure you both agree on the price first! Make sure the agreed price includes everyone (we have been fooled once!). Only the driver gets a helmet. They will even carry two of you on the back of the motorcycle! (Risky, but fun!) After the first 2 days in Phuket, we hired a motorcycle. It is very cheap and easy to get around if you know how to ride a motorcycle, and if you have a drivers license. If you don't, you may be stopped by a policeman, and you will be fined. Make sure you try and get a helmet for your passenger too (if there are2 of you). Also, hot as it may be, wear a light jacket/long sleeved shirt and jeans, it may save the skin from being grazed off in an accident. You will see many people wearing next to nothing on the motorbikes, but you don't want to see them in an accident. The traffic there is crazy, they have no concept of lanes! Watch out for people who do not signal before they pull over and stop!Anyway, we enjoyed exploring Phuket on the motorcycle, and we had no accidents. We got to go to some quiet beaches and go whenever we liked without worrying about which bus to catch and without having to haggle with any taxi or tuk tuk drivers. It was also very cheap, only about 100 baht for a whole tank of petrol! The roads in Phuket are easy to follow with a map. Another warning: make sure you hire your vehicle from a reputable place or from your hotel. Otherwise it may not be working properly, or someone who hired it to you will steal it back and you will have to pay for the 'stolen' vehicle. Leave a Comment Theme: Motorcycle
