 | Phuket Tuc Tuc Reviews | Tips 31 - 40 of 46 | | No pink Cadillacs in Thailand, just pink Tuk-Tuks. This one has racing wheels. The prices asked for Tuk-Tuk rides in Phuket are ridiculous. I think the problem is that there are a lot of package tourists who pay what is asked because they don't know any different. If you have been travelling in Thailand you will realise that the prices asked for here are 3 - 4 times more than they should be. Leave a Comment Theme: Other

Now the best way to get around the city of Patong is to hire a Tuc Tuc, It shouldn't cost anymore then 100 batt from one end of town to the other. Tuc Tuc are a open back ute style of machine with bench seat running down both sides, if it rains they have plastic see threw side panels that drop down to keep you dry Leave a Comment Theme: OtherPhone: Just walk to the curb

The Tuc Tuc is a great means of transportation to get around the island. It is not very expensive and the driver will bring you everywhere, even a 30 minutes drive from our hotel to Patong. Sometimes their driving skills can make you worry abour not arriving at your destination... Leave a Comment Theme: Other

The most common form of transport on Patong beach in Phuket is the tuk tuk. Unlike the tuk tuks in Bangkok these are red in colour and actually mini vans refurbished as tuk tuks. Patong is known for its tuk tuk mafia where no metered taxis are allowed to pick up passengers from within the Patong area. Therefore you may find the prices of these tuk tuks very high. However prices are negotiable and you may enjoy short trips. However long trips are not recommended as the tuk tuks are very noisy and also pollute the air. We did a trip from Patong to Phuket town and managed to negotiate the price to 200 bhat from 400 bhat for the 3 of us but by the time we reached Tesco Lotus in town we all had a big headache from the noise. Tuk Tuk and cab rides cost a lot more in Phuket. A ride from Patong to the le Meridian cost 100 bhat...and BAngkok it would be 40 bhat. A taxi ride is 200 bhat, cheap still but more than you are used to paying. Leave a Comment Theme: Other

Tuk Tuk is the best way to travel around Phuket although not the cheapest.Official and unofficial motorbike riders abound BUT these do not appear at all safe.Helmets although compulsary do not seem to be on offer and ther are plenty of accidents some serious and they all involve motorcycles I witnessed 3 in 10 days! Tuk tuk drivers are friendly and only too pleased to show you too the best beaches and can be hired for the morning and take you along the coast so you can make your own chice. For about 500 Baht they will drop you off at the beach in the morning and pick you up at a later time in the afternoon, they were happy not to get paid until the return trip(one even sent a replacement when he couldn't make the return!) from Phuket the best reachable beaches are Karron,Kata and Surin. the local buses are the best way to get too Phuket town Leave a Comment Theme: Other
