Phuket Things to Do

  • Phi Phi Islands

We had a one day tour, were picked up from the hotel and taken to the boat in Phuket, and off to Phi Phi island. There were awesome views of the beautiful rock formations and we snorkeled for an hour before lunch. It was an awesome experience,

  • Kata and Karon Beach

Kata Beach is definitely one of my favorite beaches. Be sure to arrive early to reserve a sun lounge as it fills up very quickly. You must hire a sun lounge first - not very expensive or the man will come chasing after you! My advice is to reserve one near a kiosk so you don't have to walk to far to get something to eat or drink. The water is so...

  • Patong Beach

I think that Patong beach and Ban Patong must be the same thing. Or not? Anyway, I'll post my Patong beach comments in Ban Patong page. And Patong was precious for us. With the monsoon, Kata beach was unsafe, so we came often to Patong, where only the dark green colour of the water and the many algae denounced the rough sea. No problem to the...

We went into this show a bit dubious .... I mean after all it is essentially a lady/boy dress-up miming show, so you really cant have any high expectations! Phuket Transportation

  • Renting Cars and Drivers

Transportation is always an issue in Phuket and we’ve found that one of the best ways to get around is to hire a private driver for the day – unlike using a local taxi, you get to create your own itinerary and you get to spend time in a clean, good-quality car with a guy who speaks good English and can therefore enhance your experience of being in...

Top 10 Coastal Drives: Phuket

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

While the majority of the resorts on Phuket are centered on the south and western shores, a few VirtualTourist members suggested driving along the Northeast loop to get a "behind the scenes" view of island life. By turning off Route 402 at the Heroines Monument circle, drivers head on a 6.8 mile (11 km) loop on the far Northeast tip of the island. The loop provides the opportunity to see excellent bay views and small fishing villages, a nice change of pace from the busy beach resorts on the opposite side of the Thai island.
