Dug and Gary at the Rapala beach restaurant by spitball We stayed at Rapala beach, in a place run by a family. They had their house there, and a few small huts, or one room shacks, mostly clean. And for their restaurant, it was a shelter situated, just yards from the beach. You could use this at any time, they had a TV set up here for those who liked to watch. The food was fantastic, but I thought everything I ate in Thailand was fantastic, I don't recall eating something that didn't make me hungrier with every mouthful. It was near the end of my week here, that I tried their banana pancakes for breakfast. I was in heaven! And I'm not really a big fan of pancakes anymore, but these were exceptional. I think it was the local honey they use for the topping, delicious! One morning when I got up, I was so hungry that I kept ordering more helpings. I think I ordered 3 helpings. I overheard the cooks when they got ANOTHER order of banana pancakes from me say, "banana boy" I smiled to myself. Infact, that honey was sooooo good, that when I got back to Bangkok, I went out on a very hot day in search of this illusive delicacy. I should have asked the people there at that restaurant where I could pick up a barrel of the amber gold. Because I never did find that same concoction. I did find and brought back a large bottle of honey, but it just wasn't the same batch.
I had many meals here, but the one that sticks out in my mind was those banana pancakes. Theme: LocalComparison: least expensiveAddress: On Long Beach

Thai Herbs Restaurant, Khao Sok by Myndo You can find this Restaurant at the main road that goes into the Khao Sok Ntl Park. Right before the bridge over the River Sok on the right side. The setting is a green garden with many plants and flowers. If you seat out the back you also have a wonderful view of the classical mountains. The food was excellent, the Menu offered such amazing things as Fern-Soup and Herb Tempura, the plants freshly from the garden. They also have more classical dishes like Chicken Soup with Coconut Milk etc.
Everything we tried was good. So good actually, that we went a second time, Don´t forget to order a special fruit juice with your meal! Leave a Comment Theme: LocalPrice: less than US$10 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageDirections: see decription

Situated on the south west of Ko Tao (far away from noisy Lamai and Chaweng beach) you can have the most delicious breakfast or, like me, the most romantic dinner right on the beach. Extremely friendly, they even give you board games while you wait for your food. I will never forget it.

Karon Beach food by easterntrekker There is a whole food court sort of place , right across from Karon Beach . The food is really good . It's a good spot to sit out of the sun and take a break . The beer is always cold too. The restaurants owners do there best to entice you to there place ( sometimes only two tabes) . We had lots of lunches there...we tried a bunch of different stalls and they were all good. The prices were really low!!
I loved the cashew chicken!! Theme: LocalPrice: less than US$10 » Currency ConverterComparison: least expensiveDirections: Karon Beach
