Nightmarket at Chana Rd: Eat & Shop at night
This nightmarket at Chana road is bustling with loads of activities when the sun sets and the whole stretch of road is blockaded from vehicular traffic access. The rows of hawkers selling many fabulous inexpensive local delights, souvenirs, novelties and clothing apparels bring life and great spectacle to an otherwise quiet nightlife in this part of Thailand. Food is cheap with most averaging aound 20 to 30 Baht, although some can go up to 50 Baht, the portion and size of it still make it value for money. You can easily grab more than enough to feed your stomach for just US$5. From the different types of food, souvenirs, novelties, to stall layout and food truck design, you will be amazed by the ingenuity of the hardworking Thai people, and their creativity and skills in making many wonderful handicrafts. As for the pricing of items, it is not difficult to see that these people are making an honest and simple living, and not out of greed to rip tourists off like what we see in some other parts of the world. They are selling to locals too and they do not double-price just because they can smell that you are a tourist.
