I love nature and there I love Trang
My apologies. I just saw this querry left unanswered. After 18 months, may not be of any meaning to the originator but for others who dropped by.Yes, there are lots to do in Trang. Depending on what is interesting to you.First, Trang is known for its Waterfalls. There are plenty. Waterfalls meant jungle trekking in real tropical country. Not on...more
Buy a trip to the 3 surroundings islands: Koh Ma, Koh Cheuk, Koh Muk (+ Emerald Cave). You will experience great snorkeling and the swimming through the dark Emerald Cave is also great adrenalin experience. The advantage of this trip is that you can go only in a small group of 4 people and 2 longtail drivers. We had a lot of fun especially on the...more

If you are looking for Halal or local Malay food, there are quire a few Muslim restaurants near Trang train station. We tried a few while there and were generally satisfied with all of them.To get there, go to the train station and once at the station, just look around and I don't think you would miss it.more
After a visit to Ani's bookstore, the owner suggested we visit "The German Beer House" for dinner. The owner, Nong, was a professional cook in Germany for 14 years. She and her boyfriend Jan have now has opened a restaurant with European and Thai cuisine. I just finished my dinner and it was fantastic. The red cabbage was better than my...more

I am sending you a couple of web sites that you can view to decide price and what type of vehicle you want to rent. They are decently priced, but I don't believe that the price includes insurance, which I would suggest you purchase. Just make sure that you document any scracthes or other damage that is on the vehicle when you pick it...more
You know you are at the right place for your busing or coaching needs when you see this sign broadly displayed by the road! So at the very least, you know who is the one that designed ..or should I say, which government department is responsible for building the bus terminal...way cool!more
It pays to do your research beforehand to know which part of Thailand you are going to or where you want to go. Then you can enquire about the fares and be given the right coach to the right place - your destination! Sometimes they leave on time, sometimes they do not..but MOST of them try anyway.more
When my brother and I booked our tickets in Ko Lanta, we were told it was a first class train with air conditioning. When in Trang our train arrived and it definitly was not first class for starters. The train had no air and it was not the most comfortable ride to Hua Hin.
We had not a bad beginning of the trip up until after dinner. After dinner and spending quite a lot of money on the overpriced beer(100bht each) we were basically forced to go to bed. The problem with this is that it was only 9:00pm and by brother and I were in no way ready to sleep at that point. We finally bent under pressure and slept for a few hours until we made it to Hua Hin. The problem here was that my brother and I paid for lower beds and ended up having to sleep up top.
The bottom line is that is if you prepurchase train tickets make sure your aware of what you are getting into. Except for the rude behaviour by one of the train staff, it wasn't all that bad, just not what we paid for (750bht each).

For NMirzaTrang is a lovely quiet clean town with awesome seafood, dimsum, trang cakes and cold coffee pronounced Ko Pee to die for.Breath taking waterfalls and the amazing Dragon Cave. You have a better choice to rent a car in Phuket or Krabi or Hatyai then Trang.Furthermore the train ride from Bangkok to Trang is long. With Airasia fares as low as...more
I am at a loss for words what to describe this adventure - in a way it reminds me of my Blue Grotto trip when I was in the island of Capri in southern Italy - the only difference is that this Trang cavern adventure lasted much longer and went through more adventurous routes. One thing I like about this activity is that you can get the opportunity to...more
