Writing home a postcard from Thailand

by SLLiew

When in Thailand, you will find that there are many things you would like to share with family or friends back home. Why not get a postcard of a temple, island or an elephant.Postage of postcard to Malaysia is 15 baht. Find out the rate of other countries at the post office. If you are buying stamps from a non-post office counter, there mayl be a small surchage.

If you have kids or love animals this is certainly worth a visit. Ive seen countless animal rights people complain about it , but when you visit and get to know the keepers and animals you will know they are well looked after - your eyes dont lie.get your photo taken riding elephants, with scorpions on your body, feeding tiger cubs, and touching - holding many other types of animal. I will post some examples here later

Phang Nga Bay Tour and James Bond Island

by Homanded

This seems to be a "Must do" for all visiting Phuket....though we found it very touristy and over rated! We much more prefered the Koh Phi Phi tour. Here is the website/link anyway. The island itself was nice but VERY crowded (even though we had gone during slow season).Once at the Muslim Village we were only given 1 hour to EITHER souvenier shop (which because of it's size it's impossible to even begin to make a dent on it) OR to have lunch (which because of the trips duration and time of day you're starvingby the time you get there.Best to put in a food order as soon as you get to the restaurant (you have to walk through the restaurant to get to the shopping area) then pick up to food to go as you walk back through to your boat and eat on the way back to pier.

BANGKOK TOUR.

by das123my

Take a ride in one of Bangkok's monorail or MRT(underground train) to explore the city first hand.Another wonderful experience is to take a boat ride along Chao Phrya river or its canal to get the feeling of old Bangkok. Bangkok is a big and modern city and offer many attraction to any travellers.

A day trip to Ayutthaya

by johnaalex

A popular day trip from Bangkok is to the city of Ayutthaya which was the country's capital before Bangkok. Most trips inlcude a short stop at the Summer Palace which I was not that impressed with. For me the best option is to get a trip that gets you to Ayutthaya by road but the return trip is down the Chao Phraya river. The boat ride now starts closer to Bangkok which means that where it used to take about 4.5 hours it is now about 2 hours. A buffet lunch is served on board. There are hundreds of temples (Wats) in Ayutthaya, my photos show some shots of the main ones.

biking in Ayutthaya

by putri_jogja

For your question about motorbike rental, I dont have any specific information whether you need to show international driving license or not. Maybe some fellow travelers can answer your question. My experience is I rent bicycle. No need anything but must pay the rent (ofcourse ehhehe). It is quite long ride. Make sure you understand the map first. That time i was riding bike slowly from 11 am to 4 pm. I still could go to see local market, take lunch, see some temples. Dont forget to bring mineral water. And 1 more thing, if you return to Bangkok by train, make sure you check the train schedule too. Happy traveling

Phuket

by solopes

Land of some good beaches, this large island connected to the continent, is plenty of complementary attractions. When we were there it was monsoon time, and some of the beaches were dangerous. A detail to have in mind, since monsoon extend for several months in summer. Our agent advice Ko Samui, in the opposite coast, and maybe, that would have been safer, with easy access to the beautiful area of Krabi. But Phuket was great, and the additional precautions needed at the sea didn't spoil a good week.
