Train from Thailand to Malaysia
From Bangkok to the south of Thailand there are several trains a day. You can either book at the station itself or in one of the myriad travel agencies in the road to the right of (when you're facing) Hualamphuong station.Food & drink are available on the train - my main meal bought from a vendor cost 50 baht! Take a bottle of water & a plastic cup for when you brush your teeth. Keep a little hand towel close by. There was loo roll in the toilets but it's always handy to have your own.I was going to Singapore via Malaysia's Jungle Railway, so was heading for Songai Kolok & on to Kota Bahru in Malaysia. The 20-hour, 917 Baht trip was VERY comfortable in the air-conditioned sleeper carriage. Ask for the lower bunk - you get the window, plus it's wider!! The 2 seats fold out to make the bunk.
