I did go to both bazaars, but I liked the one near Hotel Andijon. On Thursday morning I was able to get up at 5:15 and get over there to see the walnuts being sold by farmers to the dealers. Incredible! I just love markets and the people activity in them, and Andijon is great. It's the closest you can do to time travel.

Hotels

Hotel Andijon: Great location, okay staff..

Hotel Andijon: Great location, okay staff.., Andijon

Wanderboy43 Says:  This place is cheap and clean, and it's in a great location: next to the market. My room was only 3600 ($3.50) I think. You don't need to bargain; they have the rates and photos at the front desk If you're in the room with exposed wires, and you try to find the light switch...

Restaurants

I don't know: Chicken and sauce. Good stuff...

This is a great place. Very clean, and one of those places that has just one dish, and does it right. Roasted Chicken, with a fresh tomato sauce (Uzbek dish) and very fresh bread. All for about 1500, depending on how much chicken you want.

Favorite Dish: Take a guess.

From Margilan I got a public bus to Andijon. 450, i think. And from Andigon, I got a public bus straight to Kokand for 950 ($1). I had an assigned seat and the trip was great; people were friendly - it was good atmosphere with kids, etc...
