    What to wear?

    A slight case of overkill

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: A day's sightseeing in Bukhara can be strenuous and the sun can be deceptive - even in autumn. Packing a hat is a wise move and comfortable shoes are a must.

Modest dress is always a courtesy that should be observed when visiting a conservative country and, by mid-October, early mornings in Central Asia can be chilly so find room in your bag for a jacket.

There's a remote chance of a shower - collapsable umbrella's are very neat and take up hardly any room, though I probably wouldn't bother.

I don't really think gloves are necessary - I think I'd leave those at home

Travel light and bring activated carbon !!

Luggage and bags: All what I added to the packing list on my Uzbekistan writings applies for Bukhara as well:
travel light, bring a daypack, something to cover your arms when visiting holy Uzbek places, sunscreen, solid shoes, Russian phrasebook and calculator.

In addition, bring activated carbon with you, just in case, the ever-present Montezuma will catch you :-) (which he will without doubt).

Luggage and bags: If you are experienced traveller take your usual set of thing plus extra bags if you come for shopping.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Take very light clothing and good light shoes. You will walk a lot. Caps, hats to protect head from sun.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Good pills to cure stomach. Poor water here.

Photo Equipment: Take extra batteries with you if you use special ones.
Special ones are very expensive here.

Miscellaneous: As you can see there are different sizes and different motifs. I paid 20 US$ for the one I bought. My mam was very happy to get such a piece of art, by the way the artist told me it took 10 days to make it.

Miscellaneous: A great gift to bring as a souvenir are the bras or copper plates. On several places you can see artists carve these plates (near Samani mausoleum, near nadir Devinbega mausoleum,. . . )
