Dance show in Hoi An by SirRichard I don't use to go to Traditional music & dance shows, as I personally find them quite boring and kind of "tourist trap" somehow... But in Hoi An, to see the city's main highlights you buy a book of 6 tickets that let you in to several monuments, museums, shrines... and 1 traditional dance show. So, as I had already paid for it and I have some spare time, I decided to go. It was not a memorable experience, but it was not so boring after all, quite colourful and so... camaraderie on the water by richiecdisc Having bia hoi, or fresh draft beer, is the one night activity you should try when in Vietnam as it is a true local tradition. But there are some more touristy though still fun things to do too. One is not strictly a night activity but it does involve partying. When in Nha Trang, you should do one of the boat tours of the islands that includes among other things, a makeshift bar in the water that you can drink all the fruit wine you can stomach for free. Be careful, it's very potent stuff and the bartenders make you do big gulps every time you say no.
Bathing suit seems to be the outfit of choice. Leave a Comment Theme: OtherDirections: Sign up for a boat tour of the islands in Nha Trang.

sunset in Hoi An by xaver To tell the truth I never stayed more than one night in a town, so, leaving soon early on mornings I did not have a so busy night life. There are discos and pubs in the main towns, but as far as I could know this is not a night life oriented country, most places close before midnight, there are a few disocs that close later but they are mostly for tourists and, anyway they rarely close after 2 am, it is not Thailand yet....fortunatly! The best memories about my night life are definitly the peaceful sunsets I enjoyed on the rivers. Leave a Comment Theme: Other

The entrance ticket by SirRichard This traditional form of puppeting is exclusive of Vietnam, specially of the north, so Hanoi is the perfect place to see it. There are shows only at this Municipal Theatre, by the Lake. There are 2 shows in the evening, at 6:30 and 8:30. The show takes 1 hour and includes about 10 minutes of traditional vietnamese music too Leave a Comment Theme: TheaterDirections: By the Hoan Kiem Lake, near the Red Bridge.

Saigon Nite is a sleepy little bar run by a nice older guy and his young daughter. Seeing as Dalat is a big Café town, I’d be surprised if you ever run into anyone else in this place. A fairly unremarkable place, it’s located just on the other side of the bridge past the Cam Do hotel. This is really the only place I was able to find any liquor based drinks. Free pool, Genga and other assorted board games. The daughter has a whole slew of tricks up her sleeve to keep you entertained. Good folks, good music & stiff drinks. After a hard day of Mountain biking or trekking Dalat’s hilly terrain, you’ll need it.
Whatever you'd like Leave a Comment Theme: Other

Water Puppet Theater by muddybok Tired of drinking and shopping? For a change, Water Puppet Theater is a great place to visit at night. The art of water puppetry is unique to Vietnam. The puppets are made of wood and really do dance on water. The shows feature traditional Vietnamese music and depict folklore, myth and it normally last about an hour. Leave a Comment Theme: Concert

Seafood by muddybok Roadside seafood & noodle stalls are so common in Vietnam town. This particular eat out place aren't too cheap, but i'm surprise that many local are eating here. The high price may due to the automatic inflation system kick in once they realised we're not local. Leave a Comment Theme: Eating and Drinking

Nha Trang beach at night by MickeH Nha Trang has a wide selection of nightlife hotspots to choose from. Here is a suggestion of a few to try: Crazy Kim Bar This bar is always great fun. Happy hour 2 for 1 on drinks and beer, and there are some good drinks here. DJ that takes requests, pooltables, tables to relax, an outdoors area and a friendly and helpful staff. And lets not forget a wide variety of funny hats to borrow of you feel a bit silly, or maby not silly enough! Money earned at the bar go towards keeping kids off the streets and away from prostitution, so no need to feel bad if you spent way to much drinking last night. The money is put to good use! Nha Trang Sailing Club This seems to be the place to be most of the time. So I wonder why we never went there... Might have been the name, sounds a bit posh. Supposed to be great though, so give it a go. Casablanca A small bar with really good drinks. Order a 'Play it again, Sam' and you won't be disappointed. A perfect place to slow-start the night, and not at all far from Crazy Kim. Leave a Comment Theme: Nightclub

Hai Phong is a very lively, but laid-back city. If you ever visit "little Hanoi" (Hai Phong), try going out late at night, especially if it's raining. The few people that remain in the streets all huddle up under a canopy provided by the street food stalls. Join them for dinner. Not only is this a great way to meet the locals, but also very few foreigners visit the inner of the city, so you get an intimate moment with a group of amazing people. This was one of my favorite moments in Vietnam. Leave a Comment Theme: OtherDirections: Hai Phong Streets
