Pub Hopping

by muddybok

There are plenty of cafes & pubs for those who like pub hopping. As usual, whenever I am traveling irregardless with my friends, girlfriend, or church mate, I will surely make them agree that whenever I enjoy my drink, they can either watch me drink or join me for the drink. But they cannot complain or nag about effect of alcohol and that I should reduce my consumption.

Saigon Nightlife

by MickeH

Saigon has a notorious nightlife. And although we were only there a couple of days we did taste some of the flavoures it has to offer. Short description follows:Apocalypse NowThis nightclub is famous, or rather infamous, and if you are heading out into the night you must give it a go. Insane vietnamese tecno in the speakers pump the adrenaline high. There might have been a live band, I am not sure... The guests are all there to party and they mean buissness. The dancefloor is packed and jumping. Do it man, do it!Blue Gecko BarA great aussie bar, claims to have the coldest beer in town and that is very welcome when the temperature is high. And at least when we were there they had a mad barkeep named Kim that laughed more than she served beer I think. Pooltable, beer, good music... De Tham streetA backpacker street filled with cheap hotels and bars. Find good restaurants, bars and cafes...

Near the war memorial obelisk.: Kite Flying, Nha Trang

Most afternoons and into the evening the local population gathers in large numbers to fly simple kites next to the beach. No special dress requirements, though a kite is required if one wants to participate.

Hanoi Lake

by Maximilian21

There is this lovely lake in the centre of Hanoi. Its really beautiful and is very poplular with locals and young couples. Its sort of their version of a make out place (although i didnt see this much). I found it very romantic to take a special someone and sit on one of the benches and look out at the lake.

don't say no bar: watch the fruit wine

by richiecdisc

Having bia hoi, or fresh draft beer, is the one night activity you should try when in Vietnam as it is a true local tradition. But there are some more touristy though still fun things to do too. One is not strictly a night activity but it does involve partying. When in Nha Trang, you should do one of the boat tours of the islands that includes among other things, a makeshift bar in the water that you can drink all the fruit wine you can stomach for free. Be careful, it's very potent stuff and the bartenders make you do big gulps every time you say no. Bathing suit seems to be the outfit of choice.

TROPICAL RAIN FOREST NIGHTCLUB: Feel like a dance?

by Azza71

Although this is in the tourist area - you won't find too many tourists in here. Filled wityh the new wave of young clubbers of HCM City. Their styles come from MTV, but who knows where the dance moves originate from.If your are desperate to see what the new era of this city brings - here it is.Oh, and they all order Scotch by the bottle.Enjoy! I think they are relaxed to let travellers in and disregard what they have on - but you don't want to look like what the buffalo dragged in. You could be mistaken for thinking you are in downtown Bangkok, Paris or LA here.

Saigon Nite in Dalat?: Dalat – Looking for a "real" drink?

by epicult

Saigon Nite is a sleepy little bar run by a nice older guy and his young daughter. Seeing as Dalat is a big Café town, I’d be surprised if you ever run into anyone else in this place. A fairly unremarkable place, it’s located just on the other side of the bridge past the Cam Do hotel. This is really the only place I was able to find any liquor based drinks. Free pool, Genga and other assorted board games. The daughter has a whole slew of tricks up her sleeve to keep you entertained. Good folks, good music & stiff drinks. After a hard day of Mountain biking or trekking Dalat’s hilly terrain, you’ll need it. Whatever you'd like

Light (but no Sound) - Da Lat

by muddybok

This communication tower is lighted brightly and its one of the most beautiful thing in Da Lat town. Of course locals’ night lives are beautiful too.The tower is located near by the post office and Catholic Church.

Roadside Seafood

by muddybok

Roadside seafood & noodle stalls are so common in Vietnam town. This particular eat out place aren't too cheap, but i'm surprise that many local are eating here. The high price may due to the automatic inflation system kick in once they realised we're not local.

Water Puppetry, Hanoi

by muddybok

Tired of drinking and shopping? For a change, Water Puppet Theater is a great place to visit at night. The art of water puppetry is unique to Vietnam. The puppets are made of wood and really do dance on water. The shows feature traditional Vietnamese music and depict folklore, myth and it normally last about an hour.
