The waters off the coast of Vietnam are often crystal clear and are justifiably well known for snorkeling and scuba diving. Nha Trang is Vietnam’s premier location to engage in this great sport with Buffalo Islet among the most popular spots. For those not certified, there are ample courses that are much less expensive than in the west and for those with limited time, snorkeling provides a cheaper alternative. Even though TM Brother’s boat tour of the islands is a lot of fun with live music, great food and ample drinking opportunities, there was some fine snorkeling as well. And all for $5 too!
Mask, snorkel and fins are provides by TM Brothers but if doing a dive course or just coming to dive, it is always a good idea to bring your own regulator. Leave a Comment Theme: Scuba Diving

We then went to visit some falls just off the main highway on a dirt road. Very touristy and not spectacular unless you like to climb. The walls looked good but we were biking, not climbing. The next portion of the trek was somewhat downhill and covered some magnificent jungle terrain. Some of the view being spectacular. Gheng kept us twisted with laughter. What a nut! Badmington is a very popular sport in Vietnam. You can see people playing to it in every park in the evenings mainly. There is another kind of badmington they play with the feet. It's a pile of small rubber discs with feather on top that they pass to one another with the feet only. They stand in circle, 4 or 5 persons, and the one who lets the "ball" fall looses. Sea kayaking at Halong Bay is so different from all the canoe & kayak session that I ever did. It is especially exciting (& challenging) when you are teaming up with someone who is not so well in kayaking. It is such a wonderful experience to paddle between so many strange formations of islets. Leave a Comment Theme: Kayaking/Canoeing

There are a few biking tours you can take while in/from Dalat. While these are quite good, they're also quite expensive. My brother, Geng (from Japan) and I wanted to ride from the mountains of Dalat to the south coastal beach town of Mui Ne. We managed to find some crappy mountain bikes for cheap and decided to "coast" down to the sleepy beach town of Mui Ne. Of course the owner of the bikes will follow you as well. 1. For safety 2. More properly... to ensure the bikes make it back :-) A coasting we went. The trip starts off by whipping down the mountains on nicely paved roads, passing vehicles as you wind down the mountains. What a blast! I thought WOW, ten hours of this. It'll be incredible! Things then flatten out before we reached Chicken village. Due to the Avian flu, this was the only chicken we'd see while in Viet Nam?
A crappy bike. Don't be foolish like some people I know... bring a helmet. Leave a Comment Theme: Biking

After a good day of hiking, or even just shopping in the city, a foot massage is the BEST thing to do. Massage parlors are all around. We did it in the hotel in Hue, and just went into a parlor in on the street in HCMC. It is great, a whole hour of massage for the tired feet. Take into account that most girls don't get paid, and live only on the tip, so argue the price, and tip the girls. Have fun.

The beach of Nha Trang seems like paradise if you’ve been on the road in an bus for several days: White sand, blue water, green palms and above that a blue, sunny sky. Perfect to go underwater :-) At the PADI 5 Star Dive Centre “Rainbow Divers” you’ve the possibility to see the Chinese Sea from another side. Unfortunately I haven’t had the time to dive but I talked to an instructor who seemed to be very serious and of course PADI is a name around the world (I also learned diving there) and so you should be in good hands. But I have to say that I’ve done a walk on the beach as there was low tide. And I saw a lot of garbage (which is completely gone when there’s high tide) and a cadaver of a dog who has been skinned. So probably you should have good nerves if you want to dive there :-) A daily boat trip with min. two divers: $ 50 beach dive (with buddy): $ 25 beach dive (with divemaster): $ 30 They also offer night diving, open water course, advanced course, rescue course and others.
You can rent everything there Leave a Comment Theme: Scuba DivingAddress: Tran Phú St., Nha TrangPhone: 058/829946 or 813788Directions: Between the War Memorial and the Ana Mandara Hotel e-mail Grant Martin: crunchiem@yahoo.com mobile phone of Grant Martin: 0913/ 431 539Website: www.divevietnam.com Other Contact: 058/ 826166

When in Sapa, try to watch a soccer game, the local men play, at the field near the Cathedral. If you arrive early enough you'll definatly be asked to join! I was, but my poor soccer skills held me back from it. (Oh the shame!) :)

Jetski can be hired at Nha Trang beach at the cost of VND200.000 for 15mins slot. Please making sure that the life jacket is securely fastens. All the left side straps on my life jacket were breaking lose when I was thrown off after attempting a sharp turn and it me harder to swim to recover the jetski. Leave a Comment Theme: Other

Perhaps the tourist-developed town Nha Trang has all the water sports activities you need (You might chech Vung Tau which locates around 100km from Saigon). During the trip in Nha Trang i saw the scuba diving shop (the PADI logo), water-skiing,jet skiing, para-sailing, etc... Leave a Comment Theme: Beach Activities
