Sapa and Cat Cat village

by no_second_chance

The cat cat village is the closest village to the 'center' of sapa. I would estimate 3-4 miles away from the center. and you would not need a tour. It may be interesting if you have a Hmong local with you so you can ask any questions you wanna know about the village. it may be cheaper that way and more interesting, to me. Even though it is called Village, Cat cat in my memory was probably modernized and more tourist industrialized already.

Kitesurfing in Mui Ne Vietnam

by luna-kitepirate

Muine Vietnam -- mecca of kitesurfing, Wind every day, flat water and waves, sunshine all day and a great night life. Kite & windsurfing lessons. Experienced instructors. Best spot in Asia for kitesurfing! Mui Ne is lucky to not only have wind on a regular basis but to be situated in one of the most beautiful parts along Vietnam cost. Mui ne is about 15km from Phan Thiet the local city, and 4 hours from Saigon. Mui Ne is a large bay with hotels, bars and restaurants along the beach, it is one of the best and most unique places for kitesurfing and windsurfing in all of Asia. Wax Kitesurfing & Windsurfing School is located in the heart of the Mui Ne strip, in the center of the bay where there is plenty of space for beginners and experienced riders. Our station is partnered with Wax Beach club the most popular place to chill in the day time, and the best place to party any day of the week....

Hon Ong: swimming and snorkeling

by call_me_rhia

Whale Island is a great place to snorkel or to swim... you can join the morning snorkeling boat trip or else you can snorkel right from the island's beach, where there are still plenty of fishes and corals to see without going far.The added bonus of not joining the snorkeling trip is that you will have the entire island to yourself.. most people come here to dive, and those who do not dive normally go on the snorkeling trips... so we had the place to ourselves. The water was perfect, very clear and calm and no jellyfish, at least in July. It was neither too shallow nor too deep, and there were no nasty boats and aquascooters to worry about. i Bring a swimsuit, high factor sunscreen and not much else. Towels are optional, as you can rent them on the island. If you have a snorkel set, bring it with you, or else you can rent it on the island. Do bring a water camera, though, because it is...

Late Night Tennis

by Kudos

There are many places in Vietnam where you can play tennis into the wee hours, if that is your thing. You can always play during the way, though it is usually much cooler and hence more bearable to play at night. The best part is that for a small fee, you dont even have to pick up your balls. They have ball boys that will do that for you. The area across from New World Hotel is where you can find some equipment if you didnt bring your own.

Snorkeling

by richiecdisc

The waters off the coast of Vietnam are often crystal clear and are justifiably well known for snorkeling and scuba diving. Nha Trang is Vietnam’s premier location to engage in this great sport with Buffalo Islet among the most popular spots. For those not certified, there are ample courses that are much less expensive than in the west and for those with limited time, snorkeling provides a cheaper alternative. Even though TM Brother’s boat tour of the islands is a lot of fun with live music, great food and ample drinking opportunities, there was some fine snorkeling as well. And all for $5 too! Mask, snorkel and fins are provides by TM Brothers but if doing a dive course or just coming to dive, it is always a good idea to bring your own regulator.

Foot Massage

by galy

After a good day of hiking, or even just shopping in the city, a foot massage is the BEST thing to do. Massage parlors are all around. We did it in the hotel in Hue, and just went into a parlor in on the street in HCMC. It is great, a whole hour of massage for the tired feet. Take into account that most girls don't get paid, and live only on the tip, so argue the price, and tip the girls. Have fun. tired feet

Part 1: Biking Viet Nam

by epicult

There are a few biking tours you can take while in/from Dalat. While these are quite good, they're also quite expensive. My brother, Geng (from Japan) and I wanted to ride from the mountains of Dalat to the south coastal beach town of Mui Ne. We managed to find some crappy mountain bikes for cheap and decided to "coast" down to the sleepy beach town of Mui Ne. Of course the owner of the bikes will follow you as well. 1. For safety2. More properly... to ensure the bikes make it back :-)A coasting we went. The trip starts off by whipping down the mountains on nicely paved roads, passing vehicles as you wind down the mountains. What a blast! I thought WOW, ten hours of this. It'll be incredible! Things then flatten out before we reached Chicken village. Due to the Avian flu, this was the only chicken we'd see while in Viet Nam? A crappy bike. Don't be foolish like some people I know......

Part 2: Biking Viet Nam

by epicult

We then went to visit some falls just off the main highway on a dirt road. Very touristy and not spectacular unless you like to climb. The walls looked good but we were biking, not climbing. The next portion of the trek was somewhat downhill and covered some magnificent jungle terrain. Some of the view being spectacular. Gheng kept us twisted with laughter. What a nut!

by muddybok

Jetski can be hired at Nha Trang beach at the cost of VND200.000 for 15mins slot. Please making sure that the life jacket is securely fastens. All the left side straps on my life jacket were breaking lose when I was thrown off after attempting a sharp turn and it me harder to swim to recover the jetski.
