    These lovely ice cream bikes can be spotted pedalling around Haiphong. The minifridge is attached to the back of the bike. You can hear the bike coming, it plays some nice local music on high volume!

    I recommend the Vinamilk chocolate stick. Be careful with the ice cream though, as it is a major food poisoning hazard. Most likely the contents of the fridge have melted a couple of times before... Power cuts are common in Haiphong so be careful with all ice cream, even in the restaurants.

    You can find the fruit ladies sitting on the sidewalks all over Haiphong. Their fruit selection varies from a couple of pomelos on a blanket to a full fruit shop. Dragon fruits were great in early autumn. The pomelos are peeled for you on the spot and they are served with a hot spice mixture. Delicious, but be careful with the spice - it is full of monosodium glutamate, which is not really healthy.

    Fruits and vegetables

    For 15000 dong (1 USD) you usually get 3 large dragon fruits. Yummy!
