Sax´n art is owned by saxophonist Tran Manh Tuan, who is one of the best known jazz musicians in Vietnam and you have live music there every night, most with saxophonist Tran Manh Tuan playing himself with various guest musicians from both Vietnam and around the world.
The place has a really good vibe and this is a place for people who really care about the music and wants to meet other people who like jazz.
There is no entrance fee to the place, but the drinks are not cheap by Saigon standards, but for a westerner this should still be ok.
There are plenty of young vietnemse there though as you have a growing number of young vietnamese who are succesful in business and for the ones who belong to the intellectual enviroment too, this is surely a bit of a hangout from what i have noticed.
I really like the place and always try to pass by there every time i am in Saigon.
Dress Code: Even if it´s one of the more expensive places to drink in Saigon, the dresscode is very relaxed.

You can't miss this place ..its lights are the brightest...with the blazing red buffalo. This has got to be the best spot to sit at a sidewalk table ( and there are many) to watch the excitement of Saigon. We enjoyed a cold Tiger beer here in the last hours before we head to head to the airport to begin our trek home.
The food is pretty good here too!

The Go2 Bar is a very popular nightspot for both tourists and locals located in the Pham Ngu Lao backpacker’s area. This bar has 2 levels with the bottom level playing mainly rock tunes and upstairs playing dance, pop, hip hop and rnb tunes. The 2nd floor is the nightclub and therefore the drinks are slightly more expensive than downstairs. This bar is one of the few bars that stays open late. Normally until about 4:00-5:00am.
Open: 9:00am until 4:00-5:00am

Walk aroud Bui Vien street at night and you will be handed various flyers for some parlor services. We decided to get a 60-minute foot reflexology session for 85,000 VND. They will take you to a 2nd floor of a building where your feet will be treated to an hour long of pampering and massage. Cheap yet satisfying. :) Just don't expect a spa-like ambiance.

This was our go to place. It was across the street from our Hotel An An and was open at all hours of the night, which was good for us since jet lag was still wreaking havoc on our broken sleeping. One night at 4 a.m. while sitting out watching people go by on motorbikes, a little boy and his mother were out trying to sell gum and I was the target but the kid was so adorable, I could not refuse. Photos are below. We met many interested people here.

the Cage has been around a few months and is especially popular with young expats for it's lively music, great ambience, coziness, and dancing. It has drapes all-around, and side-seating with antique-looking chairs and couches. It's not really that large so once it gets crowded, there's not much of a dance floor so people dance at their tables. But the music is great.
However, it is expensive! Had a group with some vodka, ice, and mixers - a few of us popped-in 500,000 VND each - to cover just part of the bill before we left early.

Dance club in Ho Chi Minh City, playing a mix of hard dance and electro house, some really dirty tunes to get down to. Unlike most venues of this type, it's not full of hookers and over age expats just looking to pick up.
Good friendly crowd, not much of a dance floor to speak of as the central bar dominates a relatively small main room, though upstairs gives you far more space to get your boogey on if downstairs is too crowded and the plentiful staff mean you'll never wait long to get served.
Closest thing you'll find to a "western" club atmosphere in Saigon.
Tuesday nights Hip Hop, Wednesday nights buy one get one free.
Dress Code: None that I've noticed, I usually wear a shirt and cargo pants and skate shoes, but equally I've gotten in in shorts and t-shirt. Girls tend to be wearing attractive but not "I'm a hooker" slutty.

Pacharan is located in the heart of the city. Serving a variety of food, a large wine list and nice music accompanying all of this. The roof top bar is open until 2 am which is quite a difficult permission to get in Vietnam. The four storey building attarcts mainly foreigners but you will of course come across locals too. For a pleasant evening, try Pacharan.
