Yum! Lots of flavors—everything from chocolate & vanilla to green tea and durian.
They will give you a few samples before you decide, so you can check out one or two of the more unusual flavors. Durian is good!

This is some of the best ice cream in Saigon. There are lots of exotic flavors, making this place an ice cream lover's paradise. Toppings consist of many fresh fruits. This is a long withstanding shop within proximity to Ben Thanh Market. It is always swarming with people, so it is hard to find a table. Service is quick, the staff is efficient.
Favorite Dish: Favorite Dish: "Coconut ice-cream comes in a young coconut shell topped with strawberries, dragonfruit, raisins and longan or plainy Kem Trai Dua at 48,000 VND, If you are not that adventurous, there is plain and simple choices available like the four season which is composed of 4 different scoops of ice cream called Kem Bon Mui(durian, strawberry, chocolate and taro!) at 38,000 VND. Their Special is called what else Kem Bach Dang at 45,000 VND. The Cheapest is Kem siro (syrup ice cream) at 25,000 VND. (pls see the menu in one of my pictures!)

My wifey and I were tired out with all the walking. So when we came across this ice-cream place, we thought "Why not sit here and watch the crowd go by". The place sees a mixture of locals and foreigners. But I was just wondering, "What an expensive ice cream restaurant in the heart of Ho Chi minh City".
Favorite Dish: We got ourselves a coconut drink at 12,000VND. Ice cream starts from 30,000.

The Best Place for Ice Cream : Kem Bach Dang.
Kem Bach Dang has been around since a long long time & is very popular among the locals & deserves its well earned reputation. I went there due to a recommendation from the Lonely Planet. The place was full of people (a sure shot indication that a place is good & affordable).
The waiters dont speak english but the service is very good. Warm, polite & fast. In case you want to try a paricular flavour before ordering the waiters will give you a spoon ful of it. This helps in ordering the right flavour - especially from those that are local specialities.
Favorite Dish: Ice Cream in Young Coconut Shell. The young coconut is drained of water & filled with 3 scoops of ice-cream - flavours of your choice. There is a peculiar local flavour called Longan. I didnt like it too much but it is quite popular among the locals. The ice-cream is green & the fruit is a variation of the Lychee. I tried the coconut, vanilla & strawberry flavours & all were marvellous.
The spread is not too large but one serving of the icecream in coconut is large enough for 2 & can sustitute for a meal. So if you want to try more flavours you will have to visit atleast twice.

Perhaps as good as Fanny Ice Cream and a bit cheaper, although still seems pricey by Vietnam standards. Very popular, more so than Fanny maybe. Always crowded whenever we have been in here.
Favorite Dish: Ice cream!
