The owner of Au Parc (great deli joint near cathedral) just opened this, amazing location right oposite the Hyatt on Hai Bai trung, in a small courtyard that used to be part of the opium refinery. Food is european stuff and very good, sit outside on the terrace and enjoy being outdoors in the heart of the city.

This place has to have a mention, for ridiculous sized portions of great aussie food try this place. Had to show a picture of the ribs, which are the best I've tasted anywhere, this portion is enough to feed a small family for a week.

This is a long standing favorite, some of the best food in town, well worth the price. Used to eat in the first one in Hong Kong many years ago, and the one here is just as good. Run by Alexander and his wife Thy, recently moved but somehow they have managed to recreate the venue perfectly and I personally have had some of the best european meals I've had in this country. This hotel cafe had excellent food. This was my pho -- very fresh and no complaints. I also had a delicious Indonesian Nasi Goreng there. Leave a Comment

There is an alley parallel to De Tham that has lots of interesting little restaurants. We were pondering Chi's Cafe, looking at the menu when an Aussie on a motorbike stopped, parked and told us as he walked in that this was a good spot to eat. He works in Saigon and comes here often. We ate either here or in another along this tiny street a few times.

After much waiting my favourite restaurant is Phnom Penh has opened it doors in Saigon, fantastic spanish fare, spanish chefs, spanish wine and smack in the middle of town. This place is an odd one, multitasks as a bakery, sandwich shop, restaurant and bar. Sells Vietnamese-style sandwiches with chilli and herbs, a wide range of spring rolls and rice dishes, cheesecake. Also the pictured ridiculously large burgers, something for everyone. Yup. Bill Clinton ate here. It's right next to the Ben Thanh Market. It is a very busy place so expect to wait during "rush hour"
The pho obviously. I thought I was "phoed out", so I ordered curry chicken. BIG mistake. My rating is for the happy campers who had the pho. Leave a Comment Theme: LocalPrice: less than US$10 » Currency ConverterComparison: less expensive than averageAddress: 1-3 Phan Chu Trinh

The contrast is between Quan Cay Dua [Coconut Grove] and the dessert buffet at Cafe California at Hotel Equatorial. . We ate Quan Cay Dua our first evening in Saigon. While they had an English menu no one spoke any English at all. So we had to count down on the English menu, then count the same number of items down on the Vietnamese menu and then point:)))) . It was a very typical big restaurant in Saigon -- with both levels open to the air. The food was decent, but we sure didn't use the ice cubes!!! . In contrast the delicious dessert buffet at Cafe California. . The rating is for Quan Cay Dua. Go about 2-3 blocks -- it will be across the street from you.

Wanna eat chicken foot, wing, tongue, tripe…? Disgusting, you may say. I bet you never tried, didn’t you? There is a small restaurant specializing in this type of food, which is located on Nguyen Du street, close to Central Post Office and Notre Dame Church. Of course they serve not only grilled chicken foot, wing, tongue, tripe but also chicken meat together with sticky rice, noodle, fine noodle and soft noodle. But we usually come here for the “disgusting” dishes as the later can be easily found in any restaurants. It is mixed with special spices at least 6 hours and just grilled after waiters receive order from eaters. Take a hot and delicious chicken foot, dip into bowl of spicy soup and enjoy. Miam miam…Great! Leave a Comment Theme: Local
