We had a few nice experiences on the little islands. The first thing we saw was the locals making coconut candy. It was only $1US a big packet and quite yummy.
Lunch was special. This was where we lashed out.....probably spending more than we should have. But, what the heck......this was a once in a life time experience!!
Go to Mytho by bus which is about 2 hrs from HCMC and board on a boat to experience the lifestyle of Mekong River.Visit some village along the way too.Enjoy the coconut drink onboard,as well!
Mekong trip is definitely a MUST, reasonable rate, scenic area for photography, cheap souveniors and friendly vietnamese.
The Saigon river runs through the city. Boat tours to the Mekong Delta are offered from here. The river itself is quite polluted
You have to try this !! As part of the tour to the Mekong Delta you go to a small factory where they make Coconut Candy – delicious, I wish I had bought more. Here the husks are removed.
Hire a boat and take one or more hours trip along Saigon river.
You'll see local homes and lives of normal people.
