There are hundreds of young or little older men offering a ride on the back of their motorbikes. This is very dangerous as traffic is so chaotic. Also beware those who offered a ride on his motor xyclo. If you want try xyclo, so hire it near your hotel and bargain a price before starting a journey. Usually, the hotel can arrange this ride maybe somewhat costly but much more reliable.

taxi hawkers at the airport who insist you go to their hotel. This can be a little harrowing when you first arrive at the airport. Be polite and tell them to go away. Organize your own transport, there are heaps of taxis outside the main entrance to the airport.

Ho Chi Minh has loose and tied wires everywhere on the streets. These wires sit only just above people’s heads and we saw a couple of people caught when they had their umbrella’s up.

Gang wielding Machetes, with their rusty .22 hanging off their belt, generally roam through the quieter farther Neighborhoods of Saigon at night. They slash, hack, pillage, rob, their victims with no remorse, and are not so much different from the Vietnamese in the u.s.a.

During the day, they would hide in more secluded areas, waiting for a tourist, with a thirsty looking watch or ring, and they go in and hack the poor guys arm off, just for a 30 dollar lick of a item.

Their barely working guns are generally saved for other gangs
(usually cock-fghting vendettas over the female vietnamese), but in which it seems the gun would probably jam in 3 shots, if not the first shot.
