Said to be the first College/University in Vietnam, nice courtyard with lots of picturesque views and structures.
This is quite an interesting place to visit because it is quite tranquil and reminded me very much of visiting a Japanese temple and its surrounds.

The Temple of Literature was founded in 1070 by Emperor Ly Thanh Tong. In 1076, The Temple became Vietnam's first university, and for centuries, it was the principal center of learning.
Temple of Literature / Van Mieu. Built in the 11th Century, this is Vietnam's first university. Giant stone turtles carrying tablets with the names of elite students inscribed in Chinese Han script.
Founded in 1070 this temple is an oasis of calm. There are several 'enclosures' divided by walls and gates. It was very quiet when we went there.
